Thank you NCalement for the share!
edit: this was from a 750ml bottle
poured a hazy, pale yellow/orange color with a small but dense head that settled to a cap that hung around almost the entire serving. not much lacing just a few random blobs.
nose was intense. orange, citrus, guava esters up front followed quickly by some blue cheese. a hint of black pepper with some sweet malts round out the end.
sour but not puckering fruit up. sour subsides to pale malts, corn, butter, faint pepper, then finishes with a crispness and a slight acidic bite. a bit of a roller coaster in your mouth.
thin but substantial body with perfect carbonation for the style. literally mouth-watering.
a unique and wonderful beer. the three tiers of fermentation can be distinguished in a such a way that i am not accustomed to. they come almost one after another in order from main fermentation to secondary to tertiary. great flavor combinations that really seem to work though they don't really blend together. a must try if you liked the "sour" guava groves.

On tap at Cigar City. Served in a snifter.
Appearance - Hazy burnt orange. Small head, but they tempered the pour rate so it wouldn't foam over. Retains a decent collar.
Smell - Fruity, like an apple aroma. Not distinctly guava. Acidic. Malty too.
Taste - Tart and pretty yummy. Quite malty. Sour apple. A bit of graininess. Guava kicks up in the finish.
Mouthfeel - Pretty sour. Medium body, definitely heavy for a sour saison.
Overall - I don't remember regular Guava Grove very well but I don't remember it being as good as this.

Tried this on tap at Cigar City a few months back, but more recently shared a few 750's with some friends after a quick trip to Tampa. I was surprised and elated that they bottled this beer!
I will admit that I am new to sours, and I am just developing a taste for them. Despite that, this is still one of my favorite beers.
Pours a nice head that lasts, and is a beautiful cloudy golden color. Smells pungent, maybe slightly off-putting if you're not used to sours, but I like it.
Taste is amazing. The sour hits you hard, but doesn't linger. It doesn't destroy your palette, and is totally drinkable. I've tried regular guava grove, but I personally think the guava flavor stood out way more in the sour version.
An awesome beer overall. We shared amongst many friends with these bottles but I could drink a whole 750 by myself. Will definitely seek out again (maybe this weekend.)
