V: Really informal, parking lot was really empty, showed up at 11:03 for the 11:00 tour. Walked into the tap room and bartender sent me into the area where tours start. Guide was hanging out talking with others before tour started. Allowed me to take my kids along and see the tour.

Q: You can tell quality is what their after. They are a rapidly expanding brewery trying to keep up with the demand for their excellent beer. Tour guide explained that the 15 barrel, tanks in the tour room are the old tanks that were originally used to brew their beer but they have upgraded to larger 30 barrel tanks and put in the newly expanded area. Smaller tanks are now used for smaller batches and used in the tour room so patrons can see the beer being made.

S: Everyone here are very friendly and we loved the tour. As soon as I walked in the bartender was very helpful and said there would be no problem taking my kids along on the tour. We were in Tampa on vacation and this was on my must do list, so we picked a rainy day to leave the beach behind to do the tour and hit the aquarium. Tour guide was excellent and even though this was only his second tour, he was really beer savy and was able to give a wonderful tour. I know the tours will only get better with experience.

S: I have tried all of there widely available beers and was eager to try something new. I was fed a steady diet of their flagship Jai Alai while on the tour but also sampled their Patio Pils at the end. In the taproom the selection was great. Lots of their beers available and I left with a bomber of their latest release, two regular joes imperial stout and a crowler of a really excellent chocolate pumpkin ale called seasonal creep from the tap room. (1,750 characters)

I did not take the tour, spending time in the really nice tasting room/bar. There are 2 bars, the one up front for drinking and growler fills and then one in the back with a bigger selection in the "bar" area. The place has TV's with sports on and the feel of a local tavern.

Very welcoming and relaxed environment with a knowledgeable bartender who was equally attentive, it was an ideal craft beer setting. Cigar City made this place right. It's a craft beer destination and not just a bar; it has the 2 bars where you can get growler fills, fridges to buy 6 packs or single bombers, a gift shop, and electronic beer menus above the bar that tell the basics of each brew and which are available for growler fills and those that are brewpub exclusives. Best feature was the iPad/tablet that had the beer list which the bartender would bring over to discuss with you before offering samples. World class set up. (912 characters)

I feel Cigar City is like a Mecca for the craft beer world. You gotta go if you haven't been. It's just a really classic, cool brewery serving up amazing beer. The staff is friendly and helpful. (194 characters)

Visited March, 2015. Arrived shortly after opening. Nice selection of taps, decent selection of beers to go. Enjoyed the service and prices seemed fair. Would visit again if get the chance. (193 characters)

I just love this place! It is one of the tops on my list. Always a unique beer on tap and the atmosphere is true beer pub brewery at it's finest. Great service and great beer, what more can you say. 2015 Huna day was amazing. (229 characters)

Went for Huna Day so I'm a little biased but the taste room selection was great along with the service. The new bar area really helps with the crowd. Everything on tap was great. The combination of flavors they experiment with all work.

Try the Strawberry Jalapeño PB&J Double Cream Ale if you have the chance. Tastes and smells like a Strawberry PB&J Uncrustable with a slight amount of heat in the throat. Sounds weird but works beautifully.

As for Huna Day, AWESOME, nothing else really needs to be said. (514 characters)

Cigar City was really great. Full size bar, excellent food truck out front, tons of CCB and a few other offerings on tap, as well as a separate bar just for growlers/crowlers/quarts. The only minor complaint I had was that the first server I got was relatively gruff and seemed quite pissy, though I'm sure it was just because it was really busy. Not a big deal, and everyone else was totally cool. (398 characters)

This year hunahpu's day event cost 200 for a 6 hour event which I thought was obscene price but as I worked the event as a volunteer as the 2nd shift gate captain and was shocked at the number of people who were will to shell out 200 in cash to get
in fact the 2000 ticket to the event sold out in 30 minutes.
and I did work also after my shift at the exit gate and ever saw so many happy people giving great praise to the event as there were 80 microbrewery's there from north America (488 characters)

Handrolled cigars on premises? Yes please (and they were damn good cigars too! Especially for the price)!

LOTS of beer options. LOTS of solid beers at that. Plenty of beers for sale in cans AND an awesome snifter for purchase. Dare I say, the perfect snifter? Although mine unfortunately broke in transit on way back to New York, which is a severely depressing thought that makes me want to deduct a star out of revenge against the world. But I'll remain strong and remember the Peach American Sour Ale, which is about on par with Westbrook Gose, and all is forgiven. No wait, they served it in that beloved snifter. I hate everything...

Okay, I admit it. I foster way too much feeling towards glassware. Plus the ink peels easy and would've probably all been gone in a month anyway. Yeah. That makes me feel better. (819 characters)

I was saddened by my experience at Cigar City...

After I raved about how well they ran Hunahpu this year, I expected the tasting room to be as good of an experience. Unfortunately, I have never met a more arrogant bartending staff. Front of house service is number one for me, and theirs really left a bad taste in my mouth. (325 characters)

Incredibly spacious, no frills setup. That's important. As much as I love visiting, say, Three Floyds, it really sucks to have to stand in line for a half hour to get a spot at the bar.

The inside is sparse--woody interior, couple tvs, shuffleboard, handful of posters. There's a small to-go bar up front and a much longer and more fully staffed bar at the back, and even though it was 7PM on a Saturday we had no trouble finding a seat, no trouble getting served.

So, to recap, the vibe is plain--maybe even a little vacant or generic--but they exchange exciting ambience for unparalleled usability. That's not a bad trade off at all.

The beers, of course, are excellent. No shock there. But also nothing terribly hard to find. Which is good, because it means that Cigar City does wide releases of most of the beers they make. But also just a wee bit disappointing because it's nice to get to say you've had something new.

Don't got too much else to say. If you're in Tampa, then of course this is a must-visit. I was impressed was how accessible everything was. (1,080 characters)

The tasting room at Cigar City is wonderful. It's a great place to sample beer (or have a full one) and have fun. Bar tenders could have been more friendly and helpful. If you're not a people person then find another job! The problem is all beers are at same temp. You'd think if anyplace would serve beers at the optimal temperature, it would be a brewery. Oh well. (372 characters)

Extremely disappointed. Was looking forward to this place the most from my trip. The vibe was "OK", and they had a good selection. Loved the fact they had easy to read constantly updated selection with boards showing last time tap lines cleaned. Service was very "meh" with a lot of beer snobby bartenders. Didn't like "Egg" the pub dog walking around on a Friday night with a ton of people clearly stressed out. (416 characters)

CCB is an excellent place to visit. Highly recommended! Probably the best beer tour I've ever been on. Fun, informative, and lots of beer. The taproom has a ton of beers on tap and solid service. (195 characters)

The tasting room at the brewery is pretty awesome. Such a diverse variety of amazing beer. You can buy stuff to go- growlers, cans, merch, etc. This place is without a doubt my favorite Florida brewery. Jai Alai is one of the best IPAs I've had. The other beer styles they offer are stellar. They do have cask beers also! (321 characters)

This is a can't-be-missed stop for any BA coming into or through the Tampa Bay Area. This brewery had a nice knowledgeable tour that included some fun samples of beers that weren't quite ready to be bottled, and the tour guide was really nice.

Good, rare release beers can often be had at the brewery only. (308 characters)

very nice place, roomy, well lit. It has two separate bar areas one for growler fills and one just to drink at. Very clean bathrooms and I thought the staff was nice. I would definitely hang out here and drink if I were in Tampa. (245 characters)

Pretty open, two different bars, all kinds of growler options + crowler can option for shipping one-offs. Dog-friendly, pretty nonchalant staff, friendly regulars, smooth bottle releases for as big as the armies are at the front door. (234 characters)

I absolutely love this place! If you are ever in the Tampa Bay area and enjoy great beer, do yourself a favor and pay these guys a visit. Inviting atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, and they hook it up with "green beer samples... I was a little tipsy by the end of the tour.

Great place, great beer. (302 characters)

The handful of visits, to include last year's Hunahpu fiasco, have all been a good time. Never seem to have any stouts in the taproom when I visit but will return any chance I get. (181 characters)

A+ beers. A+ People. I always enjoy grabbing a flight of some of the beers at the back bar and grabbing a growler/bottles/cans to go on my way out. The tour was great. I try to make a trip here as often as possible. (220 characters)

Tour was not very good. I mean it was very informal and perfect for what it was but I was looking for a bit more. Was basically taken around the front of each stating and really had NO way of looking closely at anything. Warehouse two was by far the most interesting but was only able to stand about 3 feet in the door. Did not see any barrel room or even inside the cooler. Bottle line was not on and all the samples were flagship(understandably). Great tour for what it was but I was looking for a more behind the lines tour of the place. Tour guide was wonderful! Tap list was endless and the cooler had some great beers to go home with. (640 characters)

Took a tour back in June. Very informative, even let us try an experimental brew they were working on. Tasting room is really cool. Wish we had more time to try all the beers on tap. (182 characters)

This place is amazing. Helpful staff and knowledgeable people. If you are in for the third Sunday then check out the brunch, Kegs and Eggs. I was able to try a lot of quality brews. I give a strong recommendation to this brewery (228 characters)

At conference in Orlando and made the 1.25 hour drive to CCB in tampa. The location is tucked behind a target/home depot. They have a decent sized parking lot and overflow parking. I went on the day they released Marshal Zhukov (4 bottle limit). Sales started at 4pm, I arrived by 7pm and they sold out about 25-30 people ahead of me.

At least I got to try Zhukov on tap. It was pretty good. They had tons of taps and 2 different bars. Decent amount of seating and staff seemed friendly. The head brewer appologized to everyone for selling out and gave out some samples of Zhukov.

They have lots of cans for sale in reach-in-coolers as well as a ton of tees, glassware and tackers. (685 characters)
