Its a cool place and I love that they have a person hand rolling cigars in the tasting room. The staff isn't the friendliest, and lack of food selection really hurt my reviews. Overall I will be going back, hopefully when it is a little less crowded. It really had a college bar feel to it. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh, but I'm used to places like Founders, Sierra and Stone which all set the bar very high.

great place to get a brew, just avoid it on weekends if you hate crowds. otherwise the expansion offers extra seating. food there is ok but food trucks service boosts the food. pricing is good and variety is fantastic. lots of merchandise to purchase as well. a great brewery experience!

Cigar City is a great stop if you are in the Tampa area. They have recently expanded their brewpub to accommodate the large quantity of people. They have a variety of seating options including the bar, wine barrel tables, outdoor seating. They now have a front and back bar. The back bar has more options on tap and a digital tap list that sinks with the online list so its always up to date. The servers are great and always friendly. For entertainment they have a crazy long shuffle board table and last time I was in there they also had a cigar roller. Finally Cigar city does not offer any food but there is often a food truck on site just in case you get the munchies .

Recommended. With a revolving mix of 15 Cigar City beers and a few guest beers, there's always something new and interesting. Samples are available (4 small pours). And there's usually some new large format for sale near the front door.
And there is a wide variety of styles represented.
The crowd is often a post-work happy hour group, folks from out of town, and beer enthusiasts.

First time was on Hunahpus Eve. Awesome place with 20+ or so beers on tap. Pinball and shuffleboard along with 2 bar areas and great service. People and staff were very friendly. Great place. Coming back tomorrow for the big party!
Keep coming back and now have a Catador membership. Lots of bottles and cans in the fridge, always something new on tap. These guys kill it constantly. The beers are usually quality, but some of the flavor combos just don't work. That's OK. Let them experiment. Can get flights of beers and that's the way to go with so many on tap. Neat growlers on Tuesdays. Must visit while in Tampa.

This place gets busy on friday and saturday nights, but unfortunately that's about it. I last stopped in on a Wednesday night, and was surprised that only the outdoor seating was filling up. The service was great, and they have one of the best flights/samplers in the area if your interested.

Drove 45 min. to Tampa during my vacation to Orlando just for this visit. I really enjoyed the brewery. With two bars in the tasting room, the people were spread out enough to where service was great. I showed up at about 1pm so maybe the rush wasn't too bad, but still busy enough to see that locals must love this place. The list of brews on tap was awesome, with all the regulars and a bunch of brewery only offerings. The merch selection was good, but pricy. Had a good time and it was well worth to drive.

Had traveled to Orlando for vacation and made a point to make the hour drive to Cigar City in Tampa. From the outside, reminds me of many craft breweries in Southern California, industrial park feel, warehouses, etc. Inside, all manner of brewana, swag, sourvenirs, etc. Very minmimal bottle availability in terms of variety, sadly, but I sort of assumed that going in.
Large amount of beer available on tap, over 20 I believe. No stouts, or any of the humidor series sadly, mostly a mix of Pales, IPA's, browns, porters, a scotch ale, berliner weiss, a pumpkin ale, etc. Good diversve mix. but not a single barrel aged offering on? Guess being a Hoarder Society member in the Bruery has me spoiled. Large digital beer board in the back space, and card type board display at the front bar.
The Atmosphere and decor were a bit mixed for me. Given the great weather, and some lush greenery outside, inside, it was a bit dark & dingy in some area's, and even outdated. Some of the front bar, and some of the chairs seemed from out of an old bowling alley, imho. Some sky lights, but few windows. Stark contrast from say the Cigar city pub, the brewery's labels, and reach. Granted, seems they put the money where it should go, into the beer, and that equipment. However, seemed a large remodel makeover might add to the space, and even be needed in the tasting room, imho.
Quality craft brewery overall, certainly in my top 100 for the country, but, if I'm being honest, I left a bit disapointed in my experience, only because I had a higher expecation for the tasting room, and what offerings would be available, but that could just have been bad timing. Possibly unfounded opinion, from my perspective, I traveled cross country, so I wanted it to be a world class experience, since what I've been lucky to have had shared with me at festivals & bottle shares, beers from cigar city, that have been fantastic, but both the space, and the offerings, while excellent, fell a bit short of my hopes.
With this said, the place was busy for the several hours my wife and I were there trying pretty much all of the taps they had, and they are doing just fine, and will likely continue to do so.

First visit to the brewery, was very impressed with the way I was treated by the staff.
Great atmosphere, I was impressed by the current what's on tap display.
Took the tour, was very impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of our guide.
Sampled several unique beers that could not be found outside of the tasting room.
It was well worth the trip, looking forward to my next visit.
Have enjoyed every beer from Cigar City since my visit, highly recommend trying them.

I've been to brewery's all over the U.S. and Cigar City has the right idea. When you walk in on the left there is a bar with there growler area and directly on the right there is a very small kitchen area that serves quick bites and great cuban sandwiches (not open on days with food trucks). Get a little further back and on the left there is merchandise and sometimes they have someone hand rolling cigars for purchase. In the back area is another bar which has their brew selections on updated tv screen. There is always a great selection of their own brews and usually a few guest taps as well. There is almost always something unique on tap to expand your palate. Atmosphere makes people get into conservations, by that I mean, there are two TV's, but they are video cameras in the brewery. Theres no zombies staring at a TV all night, which I guess can be good too. The brewery torus are not very long but they do give a good amount of information. Staff is very knowledgable as well.
Overall great place, fantastic brew and they have some pretty amazing food trucks coming thought there too.
