Served into goblet from corked bottle. Opened with a strong pop- from which I suspected overcarbonation- but the carbonation level is perfect. Pours golden yellow with a medium-thick head that slowly dissipates but never disappears. Flavor is light- too light for such a strong ale- which makes this a happily dangerous beverage! The flavor profile is different but the total package is very reminiscent of Duvel.
The corked bottle, painted to resemble a ceramic bottle, does a wonderful job of keeping the beer fresh from the harmful effects of ambient lighting. This is a beer which I suspect is always a good choice from stores which aren't careful with their care of beers.
This beer would pair very well with lemon sauces and fish; it's bright flavor brings out spices and should do a great job of cutting rich sauces and bbq.
This is highly recommended.

I've enjoyed a fair share of DT over the years. I've had it both on tap and in their ceramic coated bottles. I recommend having it on draft if possible. The bottles are sometimes off and the flavor just isn't the same. With distribution from Europe, you have no idea how long those bottles have been sitting in a hot New Jersey warehouse.
In it's prime, it pours golden with a beautiful head. In bottles, yeast will be at the bottom of the bottle.
It doesn't smell nearly as good as it tastes. Smells of ale and slight sweetness.
Taste is fruity, spicy, and very sweet. In its prime, I taste banana, orange, coriander, cinnamon, and molasses.
Overall, it's a great beer. I like the overpowering sweetness. It's something I can appreciate with food or by itself.
