330ml bottle poured into a 16oz goblet.

A - Pours with a hazy and effervescent body, orange-golden color. Beautiful rocky white head. Lots of sediment floating throughout this one, no surprise. Thick white cap that never leaves; sticky white suds abound. Excellent looking Belgian. Cool bottle too.

S - Light fruitiness and yeast upfront, with some spice and subtle floral hops. Notes of peaches, apples, honeysuckles, and pears with hints of honey too. Spices are lightly peppery, with some zest as well. Coriander, light candi sugar, and yeasty bread. A bouquet of light floral notes along with ripe fruit and Belgian yeast; very nice.

T - Opens up with strong flavors of yeasty bread, floral notes, and fresh hay. Apples and pears make up much of the fruits, but peaches, bananas, and grapes are pronounced as well. Finishes with floral and grassy hops, Belgian spices, light phenols, and peppery yeast. An excellent Belgian flavor profile, providing complexity and pungent flavors, but remains balanced and very drinkable. Alcohol is as discrete as possible for 8.50% ABV. Good stuff.

M - Medium bodied feel, with the carbonation settles about medium as well. It has a smoothness that only a Belgian beer could have. Finishes slightly peppery and spicy, with a nice dryness that begs for another sip.

D - I'll admit, I'm a sucker for pretty much of yeasty Belgian brew, and this was no exception. Being from Western Canada I don't see very much American craft, so much of my craft beer experience has been focused on Belgian beer, which we seem to get a lot of (Having Unibroue up here as well doesn't hurt!). An all around tasty and balanced Belgian, but a step below some others I've tried. It's also a touch too weighty and sticky to make for a great summer time brew. Overall, a fine Belgian offering that I will certainly be drinking more of down the road.

better than a duvel. pours a glowing honey color with a very thick foaming white head that lasts forever. smells like belgian yeast, a touch of wildflower honey, light wheat malt, and sticky hops. flavor is close to the nose, although without the honey sweetness. more of a floral character presents itself, with mild spice and assertive hoppiness for the style. feel is nice too, more body than a duvel, not full or anything, but medium at least. nice carbonation lasts the whole glass. 10 bucks for a 10oz is too much money for this (at linger north denver), but it is a very very good beer.
