I bought this gem by mistake. I wanted the darker rich and cream Delirium Nocturum. Boy am I happy. What a wonderful mistake.

Plenty of smoke on the opening and then I poured the liquid into a Belgian tulip style glass. Looks wonderful. Deep golden - almost orange color - that is so typical of wonderful Belgian golden type paler ales. The best part of the beer is all the stuff floating in it. That's so cool. Belgians know how to make a BEER!

This is not a dry style ale that I am used to drinking. This beer is complex, bold, fruity, sour & sweetness that is full of fragrances and flavors.

Good drinkabilty and lesser carbonation. Slides down too easy, if you know what I mean. 2 big THUMBS up!

What should you drink with Tremens? Beethovens Ninth last movement! Nothing less. This is earth shattering.

On tap in Waterloo tonight, served in a Delirium tulip glass. Clear golden colour with an impressive white head. Mouthfeel is slightly oily, but not as viscous as the 8.5% ABV might imply.

Aroma of oranges, cloves and the epitome of Belgian yeast. Likewise the taste is pure "Belgian". I find the yeast almost overwhelming, but lots of spice and fruit flavours as well.

Very aromatic and flavourful beer. A benchmark Belgian ale.

On-tap at some place in Lower Manhattan; served in its own glass.

A: Pale, crisp gold with a syrupy look and little head.

S: Delicious Belgian funkiness up-front. Bubblegum is big here, along with some clove and a bit of booze.

T: The taste is a little less balanced and more boozy. The bubblegum theme is still strong, though, and it finishes juicy and mildly hoppy.

D: Mouthfeel is a big thicker for the style and the balance is a tad off, but this is pretty smooth stuff regardless.

Overall: Good BSPS! It doesn't quite reach the dry, fruity, beautiful level of Duvel, but it is very tasty in its own right.
