Start off with saying - love the packaging, from the ceramic looking bottle to the pink elephant labelling - the enjoyment starts before the cork is very popped.
Poured very dark brown with tinges of crimson with a think creamy foam. Some very large bubbled evident and lacing throughout.
The alcohol is in the nose, also picking up a complex mixture of fruit.
The taste is rich and full, and wondeful. A lot of things come out during the course of the drinking. I picked up some sour citrus - cheery maybe? The malt is there, the classic belgian yeast, and figs/raisins. There is an alcohol taste but it is not overpowering.
The finish is warming - perfect for a cold winter night.
I finsihed the 750ml bottle last night, so I'd say this is drinkable. I could have had more. This is a great beer.
