A: Dark copper color. Head is a little thin, especially if this is bottle conditioned. Very clear. Second glassful had better head.
S: Spicy notes reminiscent of cinnamon, clove, and other sweet spices. Caramel notes come through too. Alcohol notes noticeable.
T: Starts sweet then finishes dry. Flavors like tobacco, and then dries out with the same flavor. A little odd. Black / spur cherries tastes also show up. The leathery / tobacco notes persist. The yeast notes are peppery. Not much like a winter warmer Christmas beer; more like a dark trippel. More dark cherry as it warms up.
MF: Light bodied for 10%ABV. Not as effervescent as the typical Belgian offering.
D: A nice beer, albeit odd. Lacking some of the complexities someone would expect in a Belgian or a Christmas beer.
