Poured into a Delirium snifter on 12/6/12
Deep plum color with brown hues. Ample, three finger head dissipates rapidly. It doesn't leave much lace though. Thin, wispy layer of retention. A few arcs of lace.
Deep baked spice bread aromas: toasted bread, ginger, cinnamon. Figs, raisins and plums. banana bread as it warms. Earth and nut overtones.
The flavor isn't quite as lush as the I was hoping for based on the aroma, but it's still quite good. Ripe fruit notes hover over the spice bread; both are just fine, but they aren't entirely at ease together. Cinnamon raisin bread at the core.
Medium full body with a granular base. Moderately low carbonation makes for a fluffy feel. The feel is great; it has a quick coating that doesn't last too long.
This is dangerously drinkable; I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing that I bought the 11.2oz bottle. I'll probably have to give this another shake sooner than later.
