A: Dark brown with some hints of burnt orange color, with loads of carbonation bubbles. Tons of carbonation. Huge fluffy off-white head. Superb head retention and perfect lacing.
S: Lots of alcohol scent, with an orange zest smell bouncing around on the sides. No caramel, roast, or hop character in the scent. Very light smelling.
T: Huge on Belgian character, with a fruity character similar to dates and cherries. Lighter on malt character that is present in most strong darks, but heavier on yeast character. Not a lot of spicy character. There is some, but the spice is very mellow.
M: Very smooth and coating, leaving mild dryness. Medium to full-bodied and very easy to drink. Some stickiness. It's not a beer that is so full that it has to be sipped...can be had in almost any situation.
O: Overall it is a really good Belgian Strong. It is heavy on fruit character and less on caramel sweetness. If you don't mind really strong Belgian flavor then I would recommend the beer. It is not for a person who wants a more mild tasting Belgian. Personally I enjoyed the beer.
