33 cl. bottle. Big head that fades soon, leaving a tiny disperse lace. Smell of spices, cinnamon, candied fruits, brown sugar. Light body, sticky palate, normal carbonation. Taste of spices, caramel, dark fruits. Not the best of the Deliriums, IMO.

11.2 oz bottle into a teku glass.

Appearance: Pours a dark ruby color. The head is three fingers high and off-white in shade. With a fluffy yet consistent texture, it looks good in a class; retention isn't very good, however. A large amount of sticky lacing is left on the glass. (3.75)

Smell: Pretty ester driven - having said that, the esters seem closer to a BSPA (apple, pear, candied sugar) than a BSDA. I don't seem to pick up much spiciness apart from some black pepper. There are some nice cherry notes, though. I'm a bit let down by the relative lack of depth and Christmas spicing. (3.25)

Taste: I'm getting a nice amount of cherries to start. Afterwards, it develops a powerful bread note, with lesser hints of candied sugar. Where the disappointment comes in is in the lack of defined spice notes - that, and the lack of complexity. It's a fine offering, but lacking certain aspects to make it a great Belgian Noel ale. (3.25)

Mouthfeel: It's not particularly light bodied, but it's well carbonated, airy, and mouth filling. Yet it has a crisp, dry bite that makes it quite drinkable - and even better, very little alcohol is exposed to the palate. There really isn't much to complain about here. (3.75)

Overall: I'm disappointed by the lack of palpable Christmas qualities, but hey, I can't hate on a 10% beer that's crisp and easy to drink, now can I? I've had much better in the style (Noel, BSDA, or otherwise; still, a decent brew. (3.25)

3.33/5: The Noel is a bit weak, but the Delirium is really nice

The beer pours a dark copper (almost amber) color, with an off white head with a hint of tan.

The beer smells sweet and fruity, and the alcohol is definitely present.

The initial taste is not as fruity and sweet as expected. In the middle the flavor is of sweet hops. The beer has a crisp finish with the alcohol present.

The beer feels light and crisp.

Overall, the beer is a bit of a let down, especially if you were expecting a complex Christmas ale or something similar to Delerium Tremens. Still it is a decent Christmas ale.

I think this thing foamed more than anything I have ever had. Decently good strong ale though.
