Bought at Drankenhandel Geers.

Very, very nice "witbier" (with a golden gleam thanks to the passion fruit) that should be promoted as a superior alternative to cocktails and other aperitifs.

Granted, you don't taste that much of the beer as the passion fruit flavour is quite present but it gives it that little extra, as well as makes it lighter and refreshing compared to any fruit juices.

Excellent combination that I will enjoy again in the future!

A: Champagne, slight shiny gold tinge, lots of fine bubble carbonation, fraction of a finger of white foam, clear filtered.

S: Fresh passionfruit all the way. Very fruity, very evident, very floral. Reminds me of some double ipa’s like firestone double jack, due to the hops in such beers resembling passionfruit. Somewhat of a lager like maltiness as well in the background.

T: Sweet, sour, watery lager beer with bubbles, then an aftertaste of great sourness that is totally ripe passionfruit to the core, coating the tongue with its sour coating. Am I in Hawaii?

M: Medium, sour clingy body, moderate fine bubbled carbonation.

O: Love this beer. So sour and refreshing on a hot day. Loaded with flavour. Should win an academy award for its performance. Great by itself, it would cut cheescake off the tongue.

33 cl bottle purchased from Belgian Beer Shop for a few euros, poured into my Delerium Tremens tulip glass last night, color is a mix between pink and orange, 3/4 inch bubbly slightly off white head that lasts a few minutes, minimal lacing, aroma has a mix of different fruits inlcuding oranges, strawberries, guava, mango, peaches, sugar, blackberries, and lemon, smell taste starts off with a big complex fruit flavor but it is very sweet and not sour in any way, more sweetness from fruits in the middle, finish has a big peach flavor with lingering candied sugar, sweet, fruity, and citrusy mouthfeel, medium bodied, on the softer side of the carbonation spectrum, taste lingers a bit, this stuff is actually heavy because it is so sweet, not much else going on in the flavor other than a bunch of fruit but it seems to work, just takes away from its drinkability, would drink again, worth trying

This pours slightly cloudy bright golden colour with a centimetre of white head that disappears quickly.

The nose is all passionfruit. Smells reasonably natural.

The natural flavours continue on the palate. I sometimes find fruit beer to have more in common with chemicals than fresh fruit but this is not one of them. Quire sweet.

Cloying mouthfeel.

Not really my type of beer but I appreciate that this one is well made.

A - Slightly hazy dark gold colour with a few centimetres of white head that quickly fall away.
S - Passionfruit dominates the nose which I guess is a good thing if you like passionfruit - I do.
T - Again passionfruit, quite sweet but with a tarty finish.
M - Quite syrupy mouthfeel with medium carbonation.
D - Worth a try and good every once in a while but like most of the beers in this range the sweetness limits the drinkability.

Amber golden color with lots of thick head with good retention and leaving laces.
Just releasing the cap you can feel the predominant passion fruit smell in the air.
Very sweet flavor also predominating passion fruit with hints of wheat, light condiments and Belgian yeast. Dry aftertaste.
Medium body with medium carbonation and tiny bubbles.
I would have preferred it less sweet, with a lower than the 30% passion fruit juice used. Interesting that for some reason you can tell it is a Huyghe brew, probably the same yeast.

11.2 oz bottle served up by a giant Samoan looking fellow at the East End Brewery in Hong Kong. Pours into pilsner glass bright fuchsia-orange color with a ridiculous, soda-pop bubbly head. Carbonation is way out of line, head is massive but quickly dissolves to nothing. Carbonation streams remain active until the end, like a glass of champagne, however the head never returns. Smells like passion fruit juice. Bubble gummy. Sweet and moist. Tastes like passion fruit with some sugar on it. Tart as hell. Blisteringly carbonated. Lip smacking. Undrinkable beyond a half a bottle or so.

Appearance: Lightly hazed golden honey with a fizzy white head that does not retain well.

Smell: Passion fruit, sour apple, and that's about it. I wish I could embellish a bit more, but I can't.

Taste: Sweet and tart with the combined tang of passion fruit, wheat malts, and yeast. Quite sugary, almost like candy, yet the finish is fairly clean and sour.

Mouthfeel: Frothy and fairly smooth, yet puckering in its sourness.

Drinkability: This isn't a bad beer but it tastes like it was brewed by Willy Wonka. The sweetness and sourness are out of control and there's a complete lack of nuance; I expected better from the brewers of Delirium Tremens. Not bad with goat cheese.

330ml brown bottle with purple labels and purple foil around the neck, bought as a joke by a friend. The bottle was poured into a 'Corsendonk' stemmed tulip glass.

Looked lagerish, or a pale English bitter in colour, the head however was off-white, not the pure snow of a lager.

The label says passion and that is what you get, in the nose anyway, loads of it. Nothing else can get through the aroma of passion fruit, good job I like the smell.

Guess what it tastes of? Yip, passion fruit, very sweet up front, then a sourness hits you almost straight away after the initial sip. The sourness is lemon and lime flavour and stays in the mouth long after the first hints of sweetness have departed. Then slowly a semi-sickly feeling appears from the mouthfeel, very strange and not too pleasant. Add cooking apples into the flavour mix and you have just about got the measure of the tastes it gives off.

Different for sure, but not a beer I'll be trying again, nor offering friends. I can't really knock the beer, it is what it claims to be, a beer flavoured with passion fruit, most likely syrup enhanced, but who am I to say that is wrong?

S - Blue foiled cap. Best by Oct. 07. 3.6 abv.

A - Dull amber. EXTREMELY difficult to pour. Head is enormous but quickly fizzles out. not quite like soda, but a second to it.

S - Bubble gum, passion fruit, wheat, slight malt hit. Not bad, I kind of like it.

T - Huge tart factor. Passion fruit and barely anything else. What I expected.

M - Uncomfortably fizzy and carbonated. Gives me heartburn.

D - Because of the extreme carbonation, it is hard to finish even an 11.2. Disappointed considering my love for passion fruit.

Wheat Beer bottle (33cl), tasted in 2000.

Appearance: Yellow color, great white foam head
Smell: tropical fruit aromas (passion fruit)
Taste and mouthfeel: soft on the palate, sweet
Drinkability: a white beer without much character, but very refreshing.

First time I tasted a Floris and I must say I was disappointed. Nose very aggressive fruit syrup that I suspected to be purely artificial. Base of Witbier which consists entirely absent, all for a body saturated with sugar and fruit juices (passion here) which gives no flavor except that of glucose. Quick disgusting and probably an experience I will be heard again.
