Served on-draught into a generic pilsner glass in a bar in Belgium. Reviewed from notes. Cost was 3.00 euro. Called "Floris Poire" on the menu.
A: Pours a 1.5 finger head of fair cream, nice thickness, and good (~four minute) retention. Colour is a semitransparent yellow.
Sm: Sour apple. Much like the Floris Homme. No pear at all.
T: Very apple-ish, with maybe a bit of pear. I had this right after their apple beer, and it tastes very similar. Pear flavours are present towards the climax, but minimally. The foundation is simple barley of moderate fullness and depth. Not effective as a refreshing pear beer. Far too apple-emphatic. Balanced for what it is.
Mf: Smooth and wet, but coarse enough on the climax to pull the flavours through to the palate.
Dr: Very drinkable and of decent quality, but priced highly by Belgium standards. Give her a spin, but don't expect a pear taste.
