served on-tap @ Pequod's Pizza, Chicago, IL, into a pint glass
Pours a murky brown color. What color would you want besides this? It is a Brown Ale after all. Nearly 1.25 fingers of buttermilk colored head leaves standard lacing.
The aroma speaks to balance. There's some milk chocolate, some vague spicing, some green hop notes, some breadcrusts.
I'm very impressed with Over Ale's flavor. It's an incredibly balanced Brown Ale. This tastes like a fresh keg because of the pretty potent hop bitterness. But that bitterness is tempered by the milk chocolate and cappuccino flavors. It finishes like darker bread.
Overall this is one of my favorite examples of a style that I'm not that fond of. This would be a wonderful match with much of American cuisine.

Pours a haze red/brown into an imperial pint glass with a huge, frothy head that very quickly dissipates into a thin film. Smells of predominantly lemon instantly hit me; upon closer inspection there's some biscuity malt character as well.
The bready malts are up front in the taste, along with flowery and lemon bitterness, a light british yeast flavor, with a crisp (almost coppery) finish. It's lightly carbonated and very smooth but quite thick.
If I were to sum this beer up, I would probably call it an imperial ESB. It's extremely well balanced and just overall very enjoyable, without being overly complex.
