Aroma: medium sweet toffee malt aroma. Hint of spicy malt aroma not much. No DMS. Low diacetyl.

Appearance: mahogany with brown highlights. Thin soapy head that lingers.

Flavor: light caramel malt flavor. Hints of coffee and burnt malt. Finish is quite drying and bitter. No characterizable hop flavor just bitterness. No DMS, no diacetyl.

Mouthfeel: medium light body with medium low carbonation. Medium creaminess.

Overall: decent brown ale, nothing shines here though I wish there was more hop flavor and aroma. But even the malt flavor was a bit one note.

Pours a haze red/brown into an imperial pint glass with a huge, frothy head that very quickly dissipates into a thin film. Smells of predominantly lemon instantly hit me; upon closer inspection there's some biscuity malt character as well.

The bready malts are up front in the taste, along with flowery and lemon bitterness, a light british yeast flavor, with a crisp (almost coppery) finish. It's lightly carbonated and very smooth but quite thick.

If I were to sum this beer up, I would probably call it an imperial ESB. It's extremely well balanced and just overall very enjoyable, without being overly complex.
