I enjoyed this beer from the comfort of my own living room. From the bottle to a standard pint glass. (From my notes on 05-26-10.)
Appearance: Pours ruby red/brown with a big dirty white head that does not last.
Smell: Bread, malts and pine hops.
Taste: Similar to the aroma with the piney hops, but caramel now comes through.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, crisp with good carbonation on the tongue.
Drinkability: Good, would definitely recommend and drink again.

Pours a haze red/brown into an imperial pint glass with a huge, frothy head that very quickly dissipates into a thin film. Smells of predominantly lemon instantly hit me; upon closer inspection there's some biscuity malt character as well.
The bready malts are up front in the taste, along with flowery and lemon bitterness, a light british yeast flavor, with a crisp (almost coppery) finish. It's lightly carbonated and very smooth but quite thick.
If I were to sum this beer up, I would probably call it an imperial ESB. It's extremely well balanced and just overall very enjoyable, without being overly complex.
