No canning date, poured into a pint glass

A- Pours a clear golden color with a small fizzy white head that reduces to leave just a small later on top, bubbles floating to the top of the glass

S- big aroma of flowery hops mixed with a berry-like fruitiness, pine sap, flower water, citrus rind and fresh mint. Light malty sweetness compliments the hops nearly perfectly, very nice

T- flowery hops from the aromas follow to the taste. Also picking up hoppy notes of pine, leafy & grassy flavors, slightly danky. Faint underlying toasted malt allows the hops to shine

M- medium body with medium prickly carbonation, leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a crisp, dry finish

O- this is one of the best APA's I've had in a while, showcasing a nice hop bill yet keeping all of the drinkability of the style. Unfortunately my only can, would gladly buy again if given the chance

look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: a golden orange. a little bit on the lighter side of the color with some yellow in it. hazy but not quite opaque. a two finger head that fades slowly leaving a sticky lacing on the sides and some foam on the top

Smell: immediately greeted with flowery hops. minor notes of citrus and sweet malts. slight german malts to the smell.

Taste: opens with a mixture of flowery hops, mixed with a slight citrus hint along with some munich malts and a lighter crystal sweetness.

Mouthfeel: moderately bitter but a good level for a pale ale. light and drinkable.

Overall: a tasty and impressive pale ale. lots of taste and hop character without leaving anything out. a good intro to half acre and lives up to everything it should.

Solid pale ale. I tend to prefer fruitier hop flavors/aromas than stood out from this which was more of a bittering hop, but it was not overwhelmingly bitter by any stretch. I will certainly have this beer again. I'd love to try the double daisy cutter if I can ever find it in philadelphia.

Thanks again to Core 42 for being so generous!

APPEARANCE (4.0) - Served from a pint can into a pilsner glass. Poured a russet-gold color with great clarity and a good finger and a half to two fingers of powdery-white head. This looks luscious for a pale ale.

SMELL (4.75) - And it smells incredible. Just super-juicy with over the top fruit aromatics. The malt bill lends some sweetness to the hops which gives the overall nose a marmalade quality. A malange of lemon, orange, grapefruit and most of all tangerine. Smells wonderful.

TASTE (4.0) - Easily the most flavorful and complex pale ale I've ever tasted. Starts off with a malt sweetness which is initially drowned out by a surprisingly resinous pine and followed by a refreshingly clean finish. Incredibly drinkable. As it warms, the malt starts to hold its own a bit more and other hop-influences flavors such as lemon rind and mint leaf join the party. And in the mingling of herbal hops and pale graininess we get a touch of spring grass on the finish. Delicious and now I want to do a side-by-side with this, SNPA, and Stone Go To IPA.

MOUTHFEEL (4.0) - Watery? Yes, but it's a pale ale, it's supposed to be. By the smell I half expected it to drink like an IPA, but it has all the taste with a much lighter feel. Not overly carbonated, which is good here because it lets the malt bill linger on your tongue for a minute. But don't let that fool you. Ultimately, this beer has an amazingly clean finish to it that leaves you wanting more and more.

OVERALL (4.25) - The best pale ale I've ever had. Better than SNPA (as far as I can rememeber), better than Mirror Pond, and yes, better than Zombie Dust (by a fair margin if you ask me). I'm surprised this isn't rated significantly higher.
