A pale whiskey yellow and hazed brew with a strong head that lasts. Good looking but not the best pale ale out there by appearance.
Nose is divine for a pale ale. Big and hoppy with slight hints of malts. The focus is for sure about the hops that a mix of citrus, pine and earthy tea. Such a step up from the look.
The taste is very good but slips slightly from the nose in the hop department. It's still a green cone dominated brew but the hops have a stale tea like flavor rather then super fresh. Despite the lackluster hops they still dominate and are huge for a pale ale.
Mouthfeel is simple and smooth with medium carbonation and a delicate body. Citrus and malts in the finish yield a slightly dry end to this beer but all in all a great showing. This is a bold pale ale and one that I'd happily buy over and over.

Pours hazed golden with a nice white head that thins. Lacing sticks.
The smell is of robust citrus with some pine, hint of floral notes. Some bready/pale male mixes in.
The big citric notes stay just ahead of the biscuity malt and bready notes. Most of the bready notes are from the firm malt backing, some have a yeast character. The combination works well, though. Finishes with a bitter bite.
It is smooth despite the raw bite in the finish.
This is an enjoyable, hop-forward American Pale Ale. I'm glad a bartender at a local pub brought two pint-sized cans back from his trip to Chicago for me!
