Can purchased from the brewery in Chicago, IL.
Pours a clear golden hue with a sliver of white foam and strands of webbed lacing on the tulip glass. Head retains well, even though it's quite thin.
Smell is apricot, orange jujube, grassy and resinous hops, lemon, yeast esters, faint tangerine note, perfume, and white bread dough. A subtle yet pleasingly intricate nose.
Taste is grainy-doughy malts, orange zest, citrusy and lemony hops, slight saltiness (weird?), and a grassy, astringent bitterness to end. Straightforward flavour profile, but it does the trick. Good thirst-quencher.
Mouthfeel is smooth, light side of medium bodied, citric spiciness precedes a crisp, bitter, and drying finish with some grain husk on the cough. Nice!
Overall, Gossamer is a solid session brew with more flavour and hop character than your average blonde ale. Perfect for summer time patio drinking, and definitely worth a try.
