Picked up a growler from the Half Acre Tap Room on release day - served into my FFF Alpha King imperial pint glass.
A: Pours a dark caramel/brown/amber color with two fingers of tan-white colored head that laces the glass as it settles to a thin layer of froth.
S: Smells of grassy, earthy, piney hops dominate but there are also tropical citrus notes and some subtle sweet malt notes as well.
T: Similar to the smell there are grassy, earthy and piney hop flavors dominating with some tropical citrus notes in there too. Some sweet caramel, toasted malt and bready flavors along for the ride.
M: Medium carbonation, full bodied, smooth as it goes down.
D: The flavor is good and there isn't any alcohol taste, so this would be a good session beer. I personally would prefer more citrusy sweet hoppy flavors.

Gorgeous mahogany in color, one of the prettiest pours I've see.
Immediately smacked by ginger, but the sweet caramel hints balance the bitterness of the ginger well.
Taste is all ginger and very bitter, not at all sweet as the nose hinted.
Mouthfeel is a bitter one.
Overall this beer is a great snifting beer, but as soon as it hits the lips it kind of disappoints.

Pours a deep copper garnet with a creamy dense head. Great legs on the lacing.
Aroma blast of grapefruit billing. Roast malt and herbal hop.
Spicy bite to it. Moderate hop bitterness, almost grassy and pine. Malt sweetness and grainy.
Creamy and lush mouthfeel. Very satiating.
Looking at these ginger twins in their seafaring garb makes me want to put down a shot of Jameson while I go on-I dunno. Very tasty amber red that really should not be passed on. Affordable and a formidable contender.
