Poured from a 16 oz. can into a tulip pint glass.
A: Hazy, light amber color with one finger of diminishing off-white foam head. Moderate lacing remains on the glass.
S: Fairly balanced, with hops that show a predictable West Coast mix of pine, grapefruit peel, and especially green plants; and malt that features a decidedly nutty brand of caramel. Alcohol is not detected.
T: Begins very off-dry, with semi-dark candied citrus fruit and pungent pine hop aromatics. Malt is mostly concealed by the intensity of the hops, although a suggestion of husky toasted grain is suggested. Acidity is moderate into the middle, where hops flavors turn more herbaceous and bitterness begins to build over time. The finish is mildly bitter, showing qualities of pine resin and chewy crystal malt. No alcohol is detected.
M: Medium viscosity, resinous and slightly acidic and oily on the palate, with moderate carbonation.
D/O: This double IPA is more than just a full-blooded version of Daisy Cutter. Unlike the progression of pale ales from a brewery such as Russian River, this beer bears little to no resemblance to its normal-strength namesake. Overall it is an enjoyable drink, a bit heavy-handed perhaps, but delivering the expected attributes at appropriate intensities.

A - Nice golden orange color, can see right through the glass. Small head of foam, looks pretty in a glass.
S - Wonderful smell, able to detect nice bitter fruits. Nice dry hopping went on here.
T - Taste is great, the bitterness and sweet taste blend nicely and leave a great finish to the beer, I am impressed. No detection of 8% alcohol.
M - the carbonation is a little stronger than i would have guessed, but does not take away from the overall character of the beer.
O - This is a great brew that I have had my eye on for quite some time. I am a fan of Half Acre and I'm glad I was able to acquire this since normal Daisy Cutter is so enjoyable.
Purchased 3/13/14. Enjoyed 3/15/14. No date on bottle, no batch number, no IBU's.
