Oops, hit "re-review" opposed to "Edit your review." This is from 16-18 months ago.

Had this a few weeks back, thought now would be a good time to review.

A - A bit hazey / cloudy copper color with good head retention

S - Grapfruit, grass, citrus caramel and lemon

T - Here's where this beer deserves praise due to style. All other beers claiming to be a double Pale Ale have fallen short for me. Especially Double Dog comes to mind. This was a solid "IPA" for me. Clean, crisp, full of Grapefriut, Lemons, grass and bitter but not overly so. Reminded me a lot of an unfiltered Stone IPA if there were such a thing if I were to describe it to someone.

M - The Grapefruit and Lemons linger nicley, reminiscent of solid IPA almost creamy as it warms some. Good.

D - Pretty good. Would be able to polish off 2 bombers of this one in a sitting pretty easily.

Final Thoughts - This was a solid brew and a nice surprise as I didn't have huge expectations for this one. I wouldn't go as far as to say great but very good. Showcased hops very well. Glad I was able to try it.

Tried Daisy Cutter, tried Galactic, now it's time for Double. Pours a bright orange color, slightly hazy. Medium white head that disappears quickly. Scent is a little more weak than I had expected. Some grassy notes with piney hops and a hint of citrus. A lot of grapefruit with a bit of melon. Just a tiny bit of malt. Taste is a step above the aroma. Very well-balanced favors of citrus hops and crystal malt. The hops are't "in your face" but the flavor is quite lovely. Somewhat bittering finish that lingers on the back of the palate. Mouthfeel is crisp and a bit on the juicy side. Drinkability is very high. Overall, this is a well-balanced DIPA. I still prefer regular Daisy Cutter though.
