Urbancaver was kind enough to buy me some Short's beers on his latest trip to Michigan for the Holidays. This is the first of the many I am trying. Thanks again, man!
Pours a clean, clear light copper with red hues. A nice, chunky ¾ inch head sits atop my Lost Abbey Tulip. Head retention is average, leaving streaky suds along the walls of my glass.
The nose is very unique on this one. I get a warming pepper sensation followed by mango and oranges.. Wow!
Wow, that same unique flavor captured in the nose carries over to the taste. At the present time, I am just under the assumption this is an IPA, so there are either some new strange hops in here or some type of fruit was added, like guava or pomegranate? Let me read the label. Okay, I am officially a moron, I definitely get the guava in this one now, wow. The hops also play an assertive role in this beer.
Delightful and highly enjoyable. Great, lightly syrupy and moderately carbonated, though there is now active carbonation taking place in my glass. This is a highly enjoyable beer.
