Thanks to augustg for this one! Reviewed from notes. Poured from bomber into a Russian River pint glass.
A: Very dark brown, opaque, with a one-finger brown head, and no visible carbonation.
S: Heavily roasted malts, creamy lactose, coffee, leather, and just hints of dark fruit. Smells bitter overall, but not in a bad way.
T: Roasty bitter coffee, milky, some hazelnut, hints of baker's unsweet cacao in the mouth - gives the beer a mouth-drying bitter aspect. Seems a bit nutty as well.
M: Thick body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation for style, alcohol more noticeable than expected for such a low ABV but doesn't detract.
O: This was a quality beer. More roasty and bitter than most of the other examples of style, but I think it works here in context. I wouldn't hesitate to drink another.

This beer is truly chocolately that finishes with a creamy backbone to counter balances and let's it just slide down. Thoroughly enjoyed this beer on a cold day after dinner! In the words of half acre, "it's the adult chocolate milk." God bless half acre!
