Deep, dark black pour with a thin brown head. Great, rich chocolate aroma with some roasty notes on the nose. Slight coffee taste with the roast and a light but rich chocolate flavor. Very drinkable. Shared with a non BA friend who thought the same and said he should start trying dark beers again as he very much enjoyed this beer. The low ABV and thin viscosity also help with the enjoyment of the beer. It could be a hair thicker for my taste, but overall a very tasty milk stout.

A - Dark brown almost black with a slight milk chocolaty head.

S - The strong smell of coffee and bitterness stands out with a hint of alcohol.

T - The overbearing flavor of bitter coffee hits first with this stout followed by some smooth dark chocolate.

M - Good body that is carbonated just right for a nice creamy stout.

O - This is a decent stout that has a nice complex of flavors but to me this is more of a coffee stout than a chocolate stout.

Opaque brown black pour with a fleeting khaki head and traces of lace. Smells nutty, roasty, lightly chocolate, lactose and a trace of coffee. Taste is lactose and lightly roasted malt. Bitterness of bakers chocolate but not a lot of chocolate flavor. Not sweet. A hint of dried dark fruit. A whiff of coffee. Mouthfeel is too thin, carbonation is fairly strong. Dry mildly bitter finish, lactose presence. Overall this one smells decent, but not much chocolate to taste, and it's too watery.

Bomber poured into snifter.

A- Dark brown with small tan head.

S- Roasted malt forward with slight lactose scent present as well. Smells quite smoky.

T- Palate follows the nose to a T. Very little bit of milk is added to a straight smoked, almost burnt malt taste. Slightly bland. Almost too light. Really not detecting much chocolate or sweetness from the cacao and it's disappointing.

M- Very light mouthfeel but the smoke stays with you. I think one could drink several of these, however, I am not sure that's what I am looking for when I am craving a stout.

O- Honestly, kind of a let down from Half Acre. I guess not everything can be of Daisy Cutter's stature but I can't but help but look for more! I find myself looking for more flavor profiles and layers but the smoke kind of kills everything that may have been. Cheers.

22 oz bottle poured into snifter. Appearance is an opaque deep brown with tan head. Nice retention and a thick lacing left behind. The nose is heavy on cacao nibs and has nits of roasted malt. A touch of cream comes in towards the end. Taste is creamy up front with dry roasted malts and notes of cacao as the flavor progresses. The lactose sugar adds a nice balance to this roast forward stout. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with a moderate to high level of carbonation. Overall, tasty sweet stout with heavy roast and a bit of dryness.
