Notes/Commercial Description:
Novemberfest Beer

As a brewery, we haven’t been brewing lagers for a while. This or that has kept us distanced from that world, but we’re dipping back in with a release that’s coming to you on Friday 10/28. You can expect a beer that’s much like an Octoberfest, with a sturdy malt frame, but cloaked under the cover of October’s timely neighbor, November. Come see us and take a drive through Lager Town.

(Served in a dimple mug)
A- This beer pours a slight garnet hue to a clear slightly dense brown body and a thin beige head that soon breaks up. There is a sea of tiny bubbles racing to the surface.

S- The dry toasted malt note is soft but has a nice flinty mineral finish to it.

T- The dry toasted biscuit malt grows into more of a straight biscuit malt flavor as it opens with Noble hop note in the finish. There is a roasted malt bitterness and toast note that lingers in the aftertaste.

M- The medium-light mouthfeel has a watery texture that leads to a scrubbing fizz in the finish.

O- This beer has a nice aroma and good malt flavor but the bitterness and big fizz grow a bit to much and are enhanced by the dryness in the finish.

Happened to find this just last week. Hadn't seen it previously and based on some of the reviews, it must have been released late for the season (duh, didn't read the description above -- funny that the lable in the picture reads "Novemberfest," but my bottle has Octoberfest in the same font and position -- but no underline flourish).

22 ounce brown bomber, no freshness date.

A -- Pours a clear, deep copper-amber with a very dense light tan head.

S -- Yeasty, bready nose with some light, spicy to piny hops back.

T -- Sort of nutty malt character up front with some roastiness and toffee. Spicy to citrus hops follow with a nut bread finish and spicy-piny aftertaste that starts to dominate as the beer goes down.

M -- Soft and smooth mouthfeel with a medium-heavy body and dry finish.

O -- Certainly drinkable and tasty, but hardly to-style for an Oktoberfest -- let alone a lager. Change the designation to an Amber Ale and this beer is right in the wheelhouse.

22oz bottle received via Growling at the Moon. Thanks for the brew, Gonzo Illini!

Poured into a Half Acre glass, formed a 1/2" beige head over the slightly cloudy orangey amber brew. Head holds on well, with lasting lace. Aroma is malty yet citrusy as well.

Taste starts with nutty malt sweetness, citrus and pine in the middle, and comes home with a balnced bitterness. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and drinkability is great. Good brew.

Pours brown and clear in color with a 1 finger off white head that has good retention.

Smell has notes of clean yeast and rich husky caramel malt that gives a nice malty forward scent in the nose. There's not much hop presence but the malt is the highlight.

Taste is great, some good bready yeast and rich malt are first in the taste. This is followed by some clean yeasty flavors and a slightly dry slightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel is good, medium body and crisp feel, leave this very drinkable. Dry finish gives it a nice added complexity.
