Notes/Commercial Description:
Formerly know as Daly Double.

The Daly Double, an India Pale Ale brewed in memoriam of a friend of Half Acre Beer Co. Terry Daly passed away suddenly after spending a lot of time at our brewery over the last few years. Terry was a fan of music, geometry, his two Huskies, Moon & Luna, and amply hopped craft beer. We’re pretty sure that Terry was the foremost consumer of Daisy Cutter Pale Ale.

People are the larger body that is the meat of our brewing company. Not the tanks or the beers, but the heart of what we do. The Daly Double is for Terry and all the other folks that give breweries life. To Terry, Huzzah!

On tap at the Half Acre taproom grand opening, served in a pint glass.

Pour: Dark orange with a finger plus of off white sticky head. Pretty thick. Leaves heavy, thick lacing.

Smell: Pretty grassy hops, with some pine and citrus mixed in. Earthy malt profile is interesting.

Taste: Malt forward, big time. Very caramelly, with some pine to balance. Meh.

Mouthfeel: Too much malt makes for a cloying mouthfeel.

Overall: Too balanced of an IPA for my tastes. Fans of two hearted and ambers will find this beer enjoyable.

Serving type: on-tap

32oz "howler" from the brewery
L - deeper amber colored body, creamy ivory head
S - juicy, citric aroma with grapefruit, toasted grain, bold caramel; sweeter aroma, smells delicious
T - juicy and sweet up front with caramel and plenty of toasted grain, faint tea leaf; bitterness follows with grapefruit and orange rind, some pine, but still nicely balanced with the sweet juiciness riding through the bitter hops
F - medium body, ample carbonation, finishes semi-dry
O - absolutely delicious flavor profile here! I'd get this again for sure.
