Poured on tap into a small snifter at Churchkey DC. From notes.
A cloudy hazy orange amber, topped with a sudsy off white big bubbled collar. some of the collar bubbles are really large and soapy.
Nose is mild husked grain, with no chewy wheat density. Mellow. Indistinct hop profile or sense of yeast esters. Nice grain action but otherwise nothing going on here.
Palate is all in the aftertaste, and goes quickly through a very wet an watery palate. Finish has white bread and flour aftertaste that does linger nicely, but the mid palate and mouth has virtually no flavor. There's nothing going on here, no wheaty chew, dense malt or yeast character, not even a sense of hop profile.
Overall this is pretty underwhelming, and weak watery wheat pale ale with no chewy backbone and virtually no flavor.

32oz "howler" picked up at the brewery
L - hazed yellow body with a thinner off-white head that leaves a bit of sticky lacing as it slowly fades
S - fresh citrus (lemon, lime, and passion fruit) and grassy aroma with some juicy fruit and nutty wheat as well.
T - fruity, nutty, lemon, lime, and orange rind, passion fruit, a bit tropical, lemongrass, wheat, and white pepper on the finish
F - thin-to-medium body, perfect carbonation, finishes semi-bitter while being very refreshing
O - refreshing and unique hoppy American Pale Wheat Ale featuring hops from New Zealand. I would buy this again, especially in the summertime.

Appearance: This beer pours a golden yellow color and slightly hazy. The head is creamy and very white. The head dissipates quickly leaving some nice lace before is all disappears.
Smell: The aroma is quite hoppy. The smell of fresh lemon peel and citrus is present. As it warms, the smell of orange peel is noticeable. Hops are the star of the show.
Taste: Not as hoppy as the smell, however, it has a clear bitterness at the front of the mouth and a slight bitterness in the finish. It is not overly hoppy. The hops are nicely balanced with the malt to make it a very easy drinking beer. The carbonation is high, making the beer refreshing and clean. The mouthfeel is lighter.
Overall: I did not expect a wheat beer to have such a hop presence, however, I really enjoyed this beer. It is good looking and great for the summer months.
