Had this on-tap at Churchkey during the Craft Beer Conference 2013.
A: Poured a pretty, glowing, red-orange color with a soft chill haze and slight pillowy white ring around the brew.
S: Tropical fruit paradise city! Mango skin, papaya, pineapple, and good bit of hop sizzle thrown in as well. Malt backbone? We don't need no stinking malt backbone!
T: Just like the nose only more intense. The finish was quite harsh, but in the same sort of way that Daisy Cutter is. Lots of raw, plant-like, almost peppery spice on the end. Excellent flavor though.
M: More about that bitter finish. I happen to think Daisy Cutter is one of the most unique PAs on the market because of this and I could easily pick it out in a line-up. This bitter finish gave it character to my mind and I thought it was fun to drink.
O: A unique, tropical experience. This was neither an East Coast or West Coast IPA. Is there such thing as a Florida one?
Serving type: on-tap
