Appearance: Murky mahogany with half finger light tan head.

Aroma: Peach, apricot, and grapefruit. Little herbal and pine. Some toasted breadiness.

Taste: Peach, apricot, and berries. Little tangerine, pineapple and grapefruit. Some pine and herbals. Slightly sweet and light toffee toasted bready malts.

Mouthfeel: Medium- light with medium carbonation. Slight dry finish. Some hops bitterness that lingers for a short time.

Overall: A really nice IPA. Tastes a little similar to Space. But I like this better. I certainly would have it again.

22oz Bomber

Big thanks to both Matt and Mark for grabbing me a bottle of this nectar. Cheers, fellas! Anicca is ruby red and absolutely glows when around any amount of light. A good amount of haze clouds up the body while an off white head, bordering on yellow, sits atop like a crown. The foam grows immediately dense and frothy leaving big, fat clumpy lacing down the glass.

Mosaic brings fistfuls of fruit to the party. Tangerine and apricot, pineapple and papaya, underripe berries, grapefruit and orange, this beer has it all and every swirl of the glass brings a different facet. The malt base is soft and remains in the background with a neutral sugar cookie sweetness. This beer is all about a Mosaic showcase.

Each and every drink of Anicca has the ability to slightly change, just like the nose suggested. Leathery apricot gets it going with tangerine close behind. The underripe berries pick up in the middle along with grapefruit and orange. The tropicals really pop on the backend with pineapple in the forefront and papaya to clean it all up. A simple sugar cookie maltiness lays the base. There are even undercurrents of pine sap here and there. Delicious!

A moderately weighted body combined with a soft but active carbonation make for a luxurious body. It's light enough that I'm drinking far faster than I should and the bitterness eventually reaches just below moderate. Anicca is ridiculously easy to put away.

Last years bottles were from Three Floyds and this years were from Half Acre. Both were fantastic. Not often do you come across IPAs with this much juiciness and when you do you take notice. An excellent beer!

Thanks, bstyle!

A gorgeous IPA. Very sticky with an incredibly persistent head. Asides from that, this is an above average IPA, and very good by Midwest standards. A nice collection of bitterness along with some dank, citrus, and pine notes. Drinkable, and impressive for the Midwest. That being said, if this was brewed in San Diego, people would overlook this as just another average IPA. The inflated scores on this beer are some of the most ridiculous I've ever seen. Why hype an IPA? Just drink it, fools.

Copper pour with some clarity and ruby hues. Cascading rush head yields a solid inch off white merengue head. Quite lovely.

Robust aromas. Juicy red Texas grapefruit, sweety malt and spice. Zesty. A nose that satiates the olafactories.

Taste is big red juicy bits of grapefruit and welcoming pithy rind. Malt shines with extremely well balanced bitter and sweet. You have to taste to believe.

Medium body. The mouth is coated well with creamy sugars and malt. Bitterness lays pleasantly on the tongue with a lasting finish.

Mosaic, I believe is tough to master. I adore mosaic and few brewers mastercraft this, ie. Green Flash. An absolute cracker! A brew I've been on the look out for a long time. Lately I've given up on beer searches-just because. But I've always banked in my mind what to look for. Lo and behold yesterday a local grocery store had a case sitting on the shelf. Anicca rang a bell and I grabbed a few. No need to go west coast, we're doing fine right here. Tremendously tremendous!

Dark and hazy copper body. A nice dense half inch of head with spotty lacing.

It's one of the most pungent beers I've ever put my nose in. Dank, loads of tropical fruits like mango, papaya, and pineapple, some tangerine. I smells juicy as hell.

Great tropical fruit flavor. The tangerine and mango stand out most. There's a touch of pine in the finish and the finish is long and strong. There's a touch of fusel spice at the end.

Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of moderate but good carbonation.

This is the best beer I've had from HA, and that's saying a lot. I wish it was bottled.
