On-tap at the Half Acre Tap Room. 5oz sample glass.

A - White foam settles to a thin cap, leaving behind plenty of sheets of lace. Lightly hazed pale golden body.

S - Phenolic and lightly spicy yeast is balanced by sweet malts, breadiness, and mild candi sugar. A touch earthy and dirty, but fairly restrained compared to Half Acre's Saison.

T - Tangy yeast, stone and tropical fruits, lightly sweet with mild candi and honey flavors. Alcohol is very well-hidden.

M - Chewy, juicy, medium body, with lower carbonation. Not much alcohol presence at all.

D - Surprisingly excellent. The Westmalle yeast saves the day as this is much dryer and less sweet than your typical US-made tripels. I'll definitely be ordering a snifter of this next time I'm over at Half Acre as I think it's their best Belgian offering.

Served in a mini-pint at the Half Acre Store 3/10/13. Thanks to _ for the super secret hook-up! Extra special thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!

A: Served a hazy bright tangerine color. One pillowy finger of just off-white foam hangs around on top for ages. Loads of sticky lace left behind.

S: Typical Belgian Tripel aromas without even a trace of boozy alcohol. Lovely and dangerous.

T: Just as above. Killer yeasty flavors with hints of tropical fruit. Still no booziness? Frigging dangerous.

M: Not a trace of heat coupled with tons of palate pleasing flavors and feelings. Full, creamy, and nothing in there to remind you how strong this is. Did I mention how dangerous this was?

O: An excellent big beer that greatly benefitted from an "accidental overdose" of sugar. This is how it's done, son.

Appearance: Attractive lightly hazy golden color with half finger white head. Lots of lacing.

Aroma: Definitely has the yeasty phenolic aroma. Mostly apple and tropical. Very slight malty sweetness.

Taste: Cherry, apple, and tropical fruits. Quite wonderful. Some yeast spiciness. Nice sweet malts and light breadiness. Got a little bit of earthiness. Some other sweetness that is candy-like. Alcohol is extremely well-hidden.

Mouthfeel: Nice creamy medium bodied feel. Finish is a touch dry.

Overall: A really nice beer with great flavors. Look forward to having this again. Hopefully, this is on tap often.
