Pour straw golden in color with a slight haze and orange hue. Head is about one finger and has good retention.

Smell is great. Lots of tropical fruit aromas of mango pineapple and stone fruit before a nice grainy malt aroma comes in that smells nicely balance. A little bit of pine is also present but the tropical fruit hops are the main show.

Taste is great and follows the nose. Loads of tropical fruit hops are forward with big juicy flavors of mango pineapple and grapefruit. Minor hoppy bitterness is minuscule in comparison to the immense hoppy oils and resin with slight flavors of herbs and pine. Grainy malt balances the hops with a mild sweetness and cracker like malt.

Mouthfeel is great. Huge amounts of hop oils and sticky resin give this a big body. Mild carbonation cuts the hops and a mild bitterness comes right before a somewhat dry finish. (863 characters)

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #87 (Apr 2014):

Intense, Bitter, Boozy, Brash

Appropriately named after a folding Spanish fighting blade Navaja cuts deep with its hop sharpness. Bitterness is unrelenting with layers of hop flavor that makes for a longer finish. Warmth from the alcohol reminds us sip to sip that this is truly a DIPA. Big Cheers to Half Acre!

S - Mango hop sweetness, pineapple, slight grapefruit, lemon peel. Good sweet nose

T - Sweet mango, pineapple, caramely sweetness, and strawberry. Light pine on the backend that gives it a good bitter presence that lingers on the backend.

M - Medium syrupy beer with a light hop resin in the finish

O - Good IPA from HA with a good fruit presence to it. Nice and sweet IPA with a light bitter presence that balances it out. (428 characters)

Great looking bright hazy beer. Very crisp, fresh tropical juicy hops asserting out the glass. Has a midwest-eastcoast fusion of style, very fresh and clean bright tropical favors that is juicier and more astringent. A great Chicago IPA (239 characters)

Bright ruby orange in appearance with a sticky dank look to it that sure looks appealing.

The wonderfully fruity scent of orange and pineapple are balanced beautifully by a firm spicy malt backbone.

This is marvelously sticky, citrusy, tropical, and slightly spicy.

Mouthfeel has some bite, but goes down smooth in the end.

Overall, I wish I lived closer to Half Acre, because they keep putting out some damn good brews! (424 characters)
