Style | ABV
American Double / Imperial Pilsner |  8.00% ABV

Availability: Rotating

Notes/Commercial Description:
Brought to life using a lager yeast strain, this beer is a sensory pounder. Ignoring the idea of a traditional lager balance, Guest Lager hops the line and intentionally scales the flavors tied to the ale spectrum. This 8% ABV style bender wrangles an impressive canon of flavor into one place. Did we mention hops? This particular lager hosts enough Nelson Sauvin & Falconer's Flight to soothe any weary traveler.

16 oz. can poured vigorously into a Half Acre pint glass.

Pours a sunny yellow/straw with a hop haze but otherwise clear. Nice tall head and great retention. Looks like a Belgian witbier. An impressive sheet of lacing coats the glass

Smell is out of this world. Definitely a good IPA hop smell with some grapefruit but also a different smell, maybe the lager yeast? Similar to Vallejo. Whatever it is, it's interesting and inviting.

The first sip brings the hops and a lager bite. Crisp clean but so much flavor for a lager beer. Really interesting and unique. It's a flavor that is hard to describe. You have the nice fruity hops with a lasting bitterness that combines with an earthy flavor and a long finish. Great balance of malt backing the very strong hops that shine through.

The mouthfeel is medium/full and the brew is crisp and clean. Moderate carbonation is just right.

I wouldn't change a thing with this experiment. I hope they can revisit this on occasion as it is definitely one to seek out. A truly unique creation and one of my favorite collaboration beers to date. Half Acre getting better and better.
