On-tap in a 16oz glass and again from a 32oz growler.

A - White foam settles to a partial cap, thick collar, and specks of lace. Lightly hazed golden body.

S - A generous dose of Amarillo hops, as expected: grapefruit, dank herbs, a hint of onion, and a slight vegetal, grassy sharpness. Crackery malt backdrop with very little sweetness.

T - The taste is similar, with some cracker and perhaps a hint of buttery pils malt? Not as much obvious hop flavor, but there's a surprisingly hefty dose of bitterness that grows. Growler seemed a bit sweeter which helped, but rating mostly from my draft pour.

M - Dry, toasty texture, with very low residual stickiness. Medium-light body, lower carbonation, and obviously no alcohol presence. I could actually use a tad more spritz, as it gets a tad watery.

D - A very easy to drink pale ale that's a tad 'old school'. This year's batch of Amarillo hops seems a bit more grassy and earthy than previous iterations. No major complaints, but not the most memorable offering from Half Acre either.

Not my fave thing from the local brewery, I tend to not like the one-hop focused brews. Looks beautiful in a 20oz+ tall pint glass, hazy orange. Smells vegetal, slightly citrus, not exactly inviting. Taste was off for me, weirdly vegetal and not hoppy like I think of hoppy. Very nice fizzy carbonation makes it more refreshing. Full disclosure, I had this after a 13oz pour of Najava in a firkin with an extra half pound of hops, which was awesome. I’m hoping I am good enough to tease out the flavors of a second beer after one strong, hoppy beer. But maybe I am an idiot.
