Taps is a wonderful gem in the heart of downtown Tampa. Many a theater patron retires to Taps to have an brillant night cap. The beer menu that Taps provides reivals the greats. They have local, domestic, and international beers on tap and on the extened beer menu! I highly recommend this bar to anyone traveling to Tampa for business or pleasure! The food was fantastic we had salads and pastas which were very tasty! The service was very attentive and helpful. Would I go there again....Hell to the Yeah! This place rocks.

The place looks fantastic. It is very contemporary with both indoor and outdoor seating. They offer two rooms inside. One with a wine bar and lounge and the other a beer bar with tables. The waitress had better than average knowledge of beer but getting the service was S-L-O-W on a Monday night. The beer menu was outstanding with mostly craft beer and high end imports. The food was good and plated very attractively but everything was expensive. The annoying parking situation downtown means I won't go as often as I want but still plan on making several trips. A must see downtown!

TAPS is a really cool little beer and wine bar located right in downtown Tampa. The place feels more upscale and is decorated very classy. The service is good, although you may have to wait a little bit when they get busy. When it is not packed and you can actually engage the bartender you'll find that they are very knowledgable about beer and great to talk with. Most of my experience has been with Brendan or Melissa and both are exceptional at what they do. The servers could use more training with the beer.
TAPS has a wide variety of good beers in the bottle and on draft. On draft, some of my favorites include the St. Bernardus, Old Chub, Oaked Arrogant Bastard, Railbender, and Maudite. There are a bunch of different taps and I know they switch them up every now and then. Their bottle selection is massive. They will occasionally do special events. I saw that they did a beer dinner one day. I also stopped by when they got a keg of DFH 120min.
The food is outstanding although they don't have a super variety. It seems they have gourmet sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and a couple of entrees. One of my favorite things to get is the cheese plate with my beer. They give you five different types of cheese including a st andre brie, aged goat, smoked chedder, falagio?, and the Chimay cheese. The food and drinks are a little pricey and can add up pretty quickly. I try to go during their happy hour when the drafts are half off.
Overall, if your looking for a great beer place near downtown Tampa I would highly recommend TAPS.

When I first walked in I didnt know what to expect. The place looks fantastic however. Comfortable lounge seating area. Bar was kinda small but thats ok. They did have two TVs if that is your thing. Service wasnt outstanding but it wasnt horrible either. Once we started talking beer she loosened up a bit. Beer selection was good. I overheard a handful of people talking about beer which to be quite honest I didnt expect from a upscale-ish "downtown" taphouse. Overall a good experience and I will go back.
