Murky caramel color with an oatmeal colored inch high foamy head that lingers and leaves spots and legs of lace around the glass.
Aroma of toffee and caramel, some smoke and cocoa, and sweet malt.
Balanced flavors that fairly match the aroma, toffee and caramel, smoke and cocoa. Bready sweet malts, but not overly so. Some faint hops ride beneath.
Rich and full mouthfeel, very creamy (which I guess is the point) and a somewhat powdery finish.
Fairly drinkable, but probably wouldn't want more than one. Above average beer, but nothing earth-shaking.

This was poured into a pilsener glass and rated as a regular "bock." The appearance was a hazy dark bronzed orange to brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about less than thirty seconds. Filmy/semi-thick lacing runs in a messy sort of way around the glass. The smell starts off with a sweet breadiness running into light raisin, sweet apple, a light vanilla, and sweet cherry. Caramel tones do run nicely underneath. The taste takes the previously mentioned flavors and uses them to smooth it all out emphatically sweet and barely any bitterness (as a bock should be!, but then again, this is an aged review as well). Creamy sweet apple to cherry and a slight little bit of cocoa aftertaste running into a sweet wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Carbonation runs nice and smooth (really light/good). Overall, this is a really good Bock made for the holidays.

From the bottle (probably a bit old, by the way), it pours a mahogany color with a nice head, which quickly reduces to, well, nothing.. Some slight malt and toffee-ish scents in my nose. Some prunish flavors go with the malt in the mouth. Enjoyable.

Short review.
Pours a hazy golden color. Head is gone in a hurry.
Smells like vanilla with some light spices.
Tastes like cream soda. Like, exactly like cream soda. Some bready malt. But mostly cream soda.
Feel is thick and sticky and extremely dry.
Overall, not an impressive bock. Way too sweet.
