Pour is a nice deep amber orange. Dense tan head, but minimal. Fading quickly.

Nose is modest with some soft spice, orange, and a little hop. Nothing to massive here.

Taste is bursting with orange at first, followed quickly by absurdly dry and bitter hops. Lacking a bit in the depth department here. Again, a little hint of spice. Little sweet at the end too, almost a touch of maple or sweetened condensed milk.

Feel is just too thin. Leaves a little coating in your mouth, but the sip just feels hollow.

Big beer, but just not really well balanced. Juice is lost, hops are too big without the complexity to make it interesting. Mouth feel is the biggest let down. Oh well. On to another one...

Poured on tap at Rock Art brewery in Morrisville into a small taster pint glass.

Identical to it's regular IPA, pale golden amber body, cloudy slightly with small rising carbonation that comes up slowly. Head is a little bit creamier though in appearance.

Nose is quite interesting. Large mint hop angle bitter, sweet herbal notes. Light sugars mix in there a bit also. Quite nice and unique.

Taste has mild grain upfront, faint and dry. Mild hop bitterness seems to mix with the mint action as well. Same wet palate as the regular IPA, with a lingering herbs of green tea.

Overall much like the IPA but better and a great herbal and mint flavor. I could drink this again.

Hazy burnt sunset Orange hue with an active off white head. Big tropical fruit nose with floral and honey notes and a faint alcohol scent. Lots of resinous hop leaf.

Phew, much better than the past few rock arts I've had. Tropical fruit bouquet and cinnamon raisin bread up front followed by slick effervesent hop bite. Bright citric fruits with good acidity and desecration bitterness. Just the right amount of malt to allow some kind of balance. Pretty clean and slick overall. Also pretty well done and sets itself apart by not being run of the mill. Complex but with a touch of alcohol heat.

1435th Review on BA
Bottle to Pint
22oz

No bottle date
Thanks to Rudzud & jlindros for this one

App- I liken this to a apple cider color with caramel color. Completely unfiltered. On the first pour its a small white head and on 2nd its a bit more fluffy and quick. Zero cling and lace. When all is settled, looks like pine-sol in a glass. Bit let down.

Smell- Its got potential if recipe is tweeked. If this is desired end aroma, needs some work. The hops are there but really has a ton of pine behind it and something like a lager. Just odd pairing for what I assume they were going for.

Taste- From the first sip I struggled to finish. It wasnt VERY bad, just gave me a meh feeling. Not something I wanted to finished. It had some hops behind it, but overpined and had some off adjunt, malty awkward flavor.

Mouth- A very oily lighter medium body with a low carbonation. This was the best part of the beer. For some reason the oilyness works. Residual hoppy pine.

Drink- This was an extra and while I thank the guys this was just meh for me. Ill have to think twice about other rockart brews.

22 ounce bottle gently poured into a 22 ounce glass. No date.
A - fall orange color and clearly unfiltered. Heavily sedimented with flakes that rain down in the gentle bubles. Thin head that lasts but with little lacing.
S - mild grapefruit with a slight funk behind it. Heavily malted akin to a barleywine. The earthy funk is enjoyable but not expected.
T - mellow hops with a distinct sweetness and pronounced dryness.
M - smooth, thick and oily with a lingering bitter aftertaste.
Not quite what I expected from the style but the slight funk saved it for me.
