From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on March 29, 2014.
It does look very nice with its deep brown pour and lingering beige head. Lots of reddish hues to boot.
Not a whole lot on the nose. Oh yeah, there are smoked malts but they tend to be muted and subtle. Maybe that was the point. I like my smoked brews to be more aromatic.
Light to medium body. Kind of creamy.
The taste has a minor comeback because the smoky malts are a bit more noticeable. Clean, earthy finish. Not hopped or bitter but very mild.

Bottled in September, 12oz to a snifter
Pours dark black with no visibility when held to the light. A finger of foam stuck around for a minute, a nice frothy layer now. Good lacing, moderate/high carbonation
Aroma of strong dark chocolate, strong coffee notes, thick smoke, dark fruits, hints of caramel and alcohol
Taste differs from the nose a bit, strong dark fruit upfront followed by a smokey chocolate. Mild coffee notes and a touch of alcohol on the finish
Feel is a thick body with a wet finish. Pretty bitter, pretty drinkable. Alcohol isn't very detectable...whatever the abv is it can't be high
Overall a solid smoked porter, definitely worth trying. Goes great with a square of Ghirardelli dark chocolate. Thanks again to Audreyarr
