This is a lovely little traditional pub near the University of Edinburgh campus. Not surprisingly, there are a fair amount of students who frequent this place, and it can get rather crowded on a Friday or Saturday night. For a pint on a week night, however, this place is a lovely. The folks there seem to have good taste in music and always have something good playing on the jukebox. While they don't have an incredible selection of beers on tap (though when I went they did have an Erdinger weissbier, something not a lot of pubs around here keep on tap), they do have a rather nice selection of bottled Belgian beers.

I stumbled across this wee bar on a recent trip to Edinburgh. It is a traditional Scottish pub that is on a street parallel to South Clerk Street so it is away from the main road.
The proprietor, Sandy, served an excellent quality cask beer and was very pleasant as we spoke about real ales over a pint. There were 3 cask beers that are rotated constantly, Mcewans Export, Belhaven Best, along with the usual cider and lager taps. The selection of bottled beers were fantastic many unusual beers from around the world. When I was in I sampled Trade Winds and Stewart's 80/~ both of which were of excellent quality and condition.
This, to me, was an unknown wee gem, but I would definitely go back the next time I visit Edinburgh.
