I visited the new addition to the Croxley Ales group of bars on opening night and by chance as I had not seen the notes about when it was going to open. I walked in after buying a great cigar down the street and surveyed the mix of industrial looks with old English wood paneled booths. It didn't quite work, but it was clearly planned out to accommodate large numbers of patrons.
As I settled into the bar for two rounds, I was summoned by my friend Ryan from Manhattan Distributing, who was also attending the opening. While we dined on platters of great bbq/hot wings with another beer rep and great glasses of Palm from one of the taps, I noted the place was functioning very well under the weight of its first night.
I have passed by the Croxley Ales a couple of times since and noted the younger crowds packing the place out into the street. I am looking forward to another and quieter evening there in the near future when I can go.

Atmosphere: big, dark, somewhat bleak front and back eating areas - the aesthetics of the layout were not too appealing, but there are plenty of TVs - I'm pretty sure they lined all the walls - providing constant sensory bombardment - great for sports fans; I went on a Thursday night and it had a decent crowd, not packed, able to get a spot at the bar, which was much more appealing than the place as a whole.
Quality: seemed clean and well-maintained, bathroom (men's) was mediocre - better than a typical bar, but you're not gonna mistake them for anything other than a bar bathroom; the bar area itself was clean and well-lit
Service: very nice and friendly bar and wait staff - professional, polite, and friendly - the bartenders provided quick and accurate service, and the wait staff brought out food promptly and checked up no more or less than you'd want - just right.
Selection: nothing to blow you away, but the volume of choices may! You can check their beer menu online - they have a ton of stuff from all over the place - and no BMC beer!
Food: prepared as requested, delivered quickly, good-tasting and all-around good bar eats - went the wings and burger route myself, and I had no complaints.
Value: draft and food prices were average - which is good - bottle prices ran a little high, so I didn't go there. Taken as a whole, out with a few friends for a few drinks and some grub, had a great time and got my money's worth. Recommended.
