A transparent copper body gives way to a 2 inch snow white head which leaves a sticky lacing that survives throughout the enjoyment of this beer.

Primary aromas are of caramel and hops, but I am also detecting something slightly metallic.

For the most part, the taste matches the aroma of caramel and hops, perhaps something spicy, but again metallic as well.

Full body and medium carbonation are a very pleasant compliment to the hop presence on the palate.

Decent beer overall, but in my opinion has just a little something missing in the flavor.

Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a hazy, slightly pale copper-gold coloring with a thin, sparse, white head. Nose of biscuit, caramel, and not much else. Flavors are toasted forward, with a heavy caramel and butter character. Roasted tail-end, on a smooth, light body. Caramel sweet aftertaste, with a smooth, light finish.

This beer gave me one of those, "I have been defrauded" experiences. I bought the beer thinking it was brewed in Boone, NC. Only after I got the six pack home did I notice that the beer was ACTUALLY BREWED IN WILKES-BARRE, PA. Yeah, the place where those corrupt judges illegally sent all those poor kids to jail. Perturbed, I have tried to be as neutral in this review as possible. However, I hope that if you are reading this and thinking of purchasing the beer, remember IT IS NOT BREWED IN BOONE, NC.

Appearance 3.25: With one hiss of the screw-top, this beer poured out an attractive copper gold. Nice 1/4" head shrunk down to a 1/8" head that stuck around the entire session.

Smell 3.75: Very nice bouquet. Noble hops mingle with barley and slightly spicy hints.

Taste 3.25: Front is dry and focused on a slight barley taste. Middle is also dry, but does have some slight sweetness. This fades into the finish, which is where a very light noble hop character comes in along with more of a light barley taste and barely discernible treacley sweetness. Finish is short and is focused on a light and grassy barley/cereal grains flavor.

Mouthfeel 3.25: Mouthfeel was well matched to the beer and certainly did not affect my enjoyment of it.

Overall 3.25: A little better than OK ale. This is a pleasant beer and certainly a standard example of an "APA." It is light, refreshing and would be great with a meal, especially something hot and greasy like Buffalo wings. I would not buy this one again, but would not hesitate to order it with a meal if I saw it on a menu, either in Wilkes-Barre or in Boone.

A. A light caramel color, hazy, but semi-see-through. It has a white bubbly head, fairly small, without much lacing. A good amount of bubbles coming up.

S. It has a sweet malty scent to it.

T/M. It is very sweet. A lemon taste. It is malty and carbonated. Fairly light bodied. It is kind of tart. Some watermelon flavor in there.

O. It's a solid beer, in that it's easy to drink and has some flavors. I had a nice, cold, crisp one and found it to be refreshing, if unremarkable.
