A red-hued beer that combines some of our IPA's hoppiness with the strong malt backbone of Alewife Ale.

Poured on-tap and served in a 20 oz tumbler, the beer is a slightly hazed, amber-copper coloring with a thin, low profile, off-white layer of head and a steady flow of carbonation throughout. Aromas of subtle caramel sweetness, with a touch of hops bitterness to balance. Smells delicious. Flavors are a bit muddled, and on a light, carbonated body they come off a bit on the sharp, watery side. Subtle roast and caramel sweet flavors, with a touch of peppery, dry hopping at the end. The aftertaste has a subtle tang to it, but not much else. The body turns very light by the end of the palate, and the finish is frothy and filmy. Started off alright, but it was a steady decline from there. Meh.

Pours a dark amber/copper color with a decent sized head and just a little bit of lacing.

Smell is rather similar to the Mudflap Springbock, malty. If it wasn't a darker shade, I'd almost believe it was the same beer.

Taste is definitely controlled by the malt but also has a slight bitterness at the end to lend some balance.

A decent red ale, a style that isn't done too often in Maine other than Sebago or the Liberal Cup (which also runs Run of the Mill, hence many recurring beers).
