I first visited this pub for the England V. USA soccer match. The place was jumping! I waited about a month to go again, this past Saturday. The place is large with a nice wooden bar top that seats probably 20+ people. In the common areas there is seating for about another 60-70 people and then the dart area I wold say has 10 dart stations, I'm sure they state how many online. Nice mirrored bar back and around 12-14 taps. The bartender was the wife of the head bartender Daryl and she was as knowledgeable as any beer geek could be. She handed out suggestions left and right and everything was poured into it's proper stemware, she eventually left the bottles with me to pour my own (which I like). The selection is the best in FL south of St. Pete. The food is true English pub fare, I had the Fish n Chips and it was excellent. Cod that was battered and fryed on premise with some big steak cut fries. The prices are what I would expect to pay and I think their specials make this place more reasonable than most. Their pints are true 16 oz which is a rarity down this way. I recommend to anyone around here if you haven't been, GO!

Right in the middle of one of the oldest (by residents' ages) towns in FL sits a cool, two story brick building on the corner of US 41. Huge, long bar under exposed beams and a wooden roof (in Florida!). The requisite beer signage, a school-sized chalkboard listing the new drafts, sweets, upcoming beers and live music schedule.
The high roof and brick make for a bit of echo and a slightly louder environment than the number of people would normally provide.
The 26 drafts are offered in 10, 16 & 20 ounce servings. A well-rounded selection on those taps, too. From Breckenridge to Dogfish Head, Cigar City, Yuengling, Smithwick's, Newcastle, Stella, Harp and many others on my visit.
I didn't try the food but the Thursday lunch crowd all look very happy and it smelled and looked good.
Parking was tight due to some construction. And free wifi.
While there are places in the area with larger selections (World of Beer, Cock & Bull) they are 50 miles away in Sarasota. If I want a beer with a place like this nearby, I'm not diving 50 miles except for a special reason. And they fill growlers.
I ended up staying later than expected and had the Cottage Pie. Really good. Well presented, substantial serving size, great mix of veggies and well-seasoned beef with some seriously good mashed taters on top. Not heavy at all.
Staff was friendly and attentive, even offered a sample of a beer they don't really carry (just keep for some regular pool players as a favor). One bad note: No one ever mentioned or offered a list of bottled beers in the three plus hours I was there.
My total bill for 3 10 oz. tap beers and the Cottage Pie was $20. That's very reasonable.

This is the best place anywhere around to get a beer, or play darts. They told me that they have the best cheese burger, which i tried and was amazing.
The beer selection is 26 beers on draught and around 180 in the bottle. With stuff like St. Bernardus Abt 12 on draught and several rotating taps.
There are 10 dart boards a snooker table and even some bar billiard tables.
The TV selection is good and you can always request to change the channel to any channel that they get. They get the baseball package and the nfl package every year, so I can watch my team play.
I cannot wait to go back and visit.

An oasis in the beer desert that is Florida. Stopped in twice during my vacation, as I loved it so much the first time, I had to go back. Tap count was actually 26, with no fizzy yellow wasting precious space. OK, they had Stella, but that gets a pass. Drafts did change somewhat between visits, which was good for variety.
Not sure of the bottle count, but it was up there. Great mix of English, German, & Belgians imports, as well as US micros including regionals like Lazy Magnolia and Cigar City. I was happy to find Bells, stuff that I can't even get in NY.
Prices were quite reasonable, especially for the higher ABV stuff. Bottles and draft growlers are available to go at even lower rates.
Atmosphere was traditional British pub, including 10+ analog dart boards. A few TVs showed world news and sports.
Food was good pub fare, great burgers, fish & chips, etc.
Service was always friendly and ranged from good to excellent depending on the bartender's beer knowledge.

The wife and I visited Ice House Pub after leaving the SW Florida International Beer Festival last Saturday. I'd wanted to check it out for a while and was finally in the area.
The atmosphere is exactly what I want out of a British-style pub. Several varieties of pub games, pool tables and 10 dart boards lining the walls. The bar is pretty large and features 25 taps (only 24 were available since Sculpin tapped out about an hour before we arrived). The bottle selection is quite extensive - around 140 bottles according to the bartender. They have a wide array of glassware and everything seemed to be served properly.
The food consists of traditional British pub fare. The wife and I both ordered grilled chicken Caesar salads (I know), so I won't rate the food. The service was outstanding. The bartender seemed to be very knowledgeable and was more than willing to explain the rules to the games that were available.
I will definitely be returning to Ice House Pub in the near future. I only wish we had a pub like this here in Fort Myers. I'd be there all the time.

When you consider the town that this place is, you get a better understanding of things. The building itself is a historical landmark in the area. 20 selections on draught, and over 140 bottles/ cans, yes they do have a couple of beers in cans.
i believe the bartendress told us that they have over 168 beers to choose from now.
10+ dart boards in the back as well as many other pub games.
Food is reasonable price wise and the portions are nice, one thing about the Ice House is that you don't leave hungry.
this is the best place in Charlotte County, FL to drink a beer.

Stopped by on a recent trip to the west coast of Florida. This place has to be one of the nicest bars that I have ever been to. This place is a historic building that was rennovated, it used to be the orginal ice house that was used in the 30's or 40's I believe. Huge in side nice tables with an amazing bar and a tone of dart boards I wanted to say around 15 of them. This is a beer lovers dream, beer signs everywhere. The service was top notch, the bartender/manager really knew his stuff and I was impressed by him. One of the first truly passionate bartenders out there, he knew his stuff and it showed. The selection on draft was pretty decent, but the bottle selections were even better, they had everything from HopSlam to some rare Belgiums. I didn't try the food but it looked pretty good and well prepared. Overall this place is awesome and one I would frequent if I lived in the area.
