Went here after a few day long meetings at the suggestion of the consultants. Walking in I looked around and immediately thought no way I'd get a good beer in here, everyone was dressed cocktail style and nursing wine. As we set everyone started chatting and I got bored, looked off at the bar and saw something that intrigued me. Got up and looked to find a small but well choosen selection of fine beers. Started with a Pannopot, moved on to the last Jolly Pumpkin Noel De Calabaza, they, had a few other JP's too. and Finished with a Glazen Toren Saison d Erpe-mere.
They had their basic Germans covered but it looked like they might have been pushing Franziskaner hefe as most of the clientèle that was drinking was fixed on that. Lots of Sam Smiths on special too. They had Trois Pistoles and La fin du Monde on the walls and then a few other brews I didn't recognize (or could see/read the label.)
Food was decent but pricey, which means if I wasn't paying for it I wouldn't have eaten (think 30 bucks the average plate.) My bar tab of two 750's and a 11.2oz came easily came to 70 bucks, so not coming here to get a good deal. The staff seemed interested in the beers best of all, took care in pouring them, but they still had a lot to learn. Also, one minor negative with the beer, way too cold. I had to warm up the first one then tell them to take out the others before I drank them. Overall, prolly a nice date place or good for wining up clients. :)
