The initial aroma is of sweet and sour pineapple like in an acetic infection. I also get a bare hint of roast.

Dark, dark brown with a big, tan head.

WTF!?! I get an initial hit of pineapple but this is completely covered up by burnt rubber and a touch of roast. Wrong on so many levels.

Light body with high carbonation.

Completely undrinkable like almost everything I've had from this brewery. The bottle is fairly fresh too so that hasn't been the issue.

I actually picked up this bottle in the Victoria Market in Melbourne. There was a counter that sold wine and beer and they had a pretty good lineup of beers. They told me that this is such a small brewery, that they never know when they will have stuff in stock. Probably just a one-two guy operation.
Guess I was lucky to find a bottle then.
The beer is room temp and pours a pitch black color with soft fluffy tan head of 2 cm that fades to a sturdy surface layer.
Aroma is a little off. I get some roasted malt and chocolate up front but also a smoked salmon and cardboard smell as well. Uhoh. This bodes poorly for the flavor. The first sip is a slightly thin body with average carbonation. Flavor starts sweet fruit (Cherry) and some chocolate but finishes with an astringent cardboard flavor. Not very good. Makes it tough to drink. I think the beer is infected and/or oxidized, but the bottle was fresh at the store so I will review as this reflects on the brewery IMO. It looks good and maybe next batch will be fine but this batch of stout from a small brewery was not too tasty.
