From Cellarbrations Carlisle. No BB

Pours a frankly murky amber colour. Off white head fades to film.

Aromas are powerful and malt driven. Think marmalades, caramels., tangerines, vanillas.

Good balance on palate, with malt backbone of caramels offset by a citrus hop bitterness. Taste is full bodied, and the flavour lingers nicely.

Mouthfeel nice and lively.

Good under the radar beer, well made and very flavoursome. Had as first beer of the night and wished I had had later after my thirst had died a little.

Pours a coppery red colour with mild haze and slight bubbliness. Head is off-white, quite generous with big bubbles on top and retaining a nice thick layer of lace.

Smell is largely fruity, with a lot of ale yeast py-products, giving pear, green apple and slight sultana notes. Hint of leafy hops at the back but predominantly sweet. Not bad, though.

Taste doesn't have the fruitiness of the nose at all. Hints of malt on the front with grain notes that get very earthy on the mid, providing resinous hop notes, hint of grapefruit and some late carraway spice. Woody, earthy, a little bit dirty with just a touch of that pear fruitiness on the back. Not an overly tasty palate; has a grittiness that lacks refreshment, but the beer overall is fairly well constructed.

Sparkly, mostly dry mouthfeel with a bit too much sizzle. Can't say I love it.

Fairly standard offering, not sure I'd drink another if it were on offer.

Great to see some beers packaged up in old skool 600ml brown bottles. Brown orange in colour however the body is quite murky. Thin white head hangs around quite well. The aromas seduce me completely; sweet fruity apricot, a touch candied, but somewhat striking. Follws up quite well in the mouth as the apricot stays largely in tact. I can see why some may find this a bit sweet and to be honest I did find the beer thicked up quite a bit on the finish. Still, better than 95% of other Australian beers and provides lot’s on encouragement to seek out the other brews.

Got this in my mix-a-six at the BrewBoys Brewery. As a matter of fact, it was the added 7th that the owner threw in after we pointed out a "defective" schooner glass (he let us keep that, too!)

Really excited to try this one, as it was their very first brew. Was impressed with all of their other beers so I'm confident that this one will also be top notch.

A- Pours with medium hazy, some sediment contributes to its cloudiness. Two finger off-white head that sits comfortably afloat the entire pint. Dark copper hue, ruby core.

S- Strong, sweet smell as well as some hops in the nose

T- Very sweet, along with some hop balance. Dark cherries, while bitterness lingers in aftertaste. Difficult to pull too much from this beer, subtle complexity (oxymoron- yes, true- yes.) and fair amount of residual sugar.

M- Decent body, good amount of carbonation.

D- Still drinkable, though its high sugar content prevents multiple to one sitting.

Great beer, and a great start of the BrewBoys portfolio.

Not a bad little beer. Definitely hoppier than expected, plenty of pineapple and orange on the nose. Also quite floral with some biscuity malt definitely taking the back seat. Smooth, easy drinking with fairly mild bitterness. The orange comes through again in the mouth. Develops a kind of buttery feel and taste as it warms up, but it isn't unpleasant. In fact there's nothing really unpleasant about this beer at all. I think it may be a touch heavy on the aroma hops for those that like a malt driven amber/red ale, but it's quite nice overall.

Pours a darkish golden colour, amber is probably stretching it a little, with a filmy but persistent head of white suds. Not much lacing, but it's not too bad. Looks a bit static in the glass, but I do like the fine bubbling in what counts as the head. Not bad.

Very light, and not particularly pungent nose, although pleasant fruity hints of sweet orange and dried apricots come through, along with a smooth buttery sweetness. Really, not much to it though.

Taste is smooth and pleasant, with a nice bite of hops through the centre of the palate. Otherwise very clean around the edges, with some buttery malt notes providing a base. Finish is not particularly dry, with a slight lingering sweetness balanced by a slight metallic zing. It's not a huge palate, but it's very well balanced and really refreshing - certainly nothing off or unwelcome. Mouthfeel is balanced nicely between smoothness and spritzy carbonation.

Yeah, this is a very nice beer. It's not huge, but it's well-made and it's very drinkable. By the end of the glass, I was won over.

Caramel pour with a lasting small head.
Lots of c-hops in the aroma, presumably from intense dry-hopping. Some grapefruit and floral notes but mainly dominated by pure fresh hops aroma.
Clean sweet malt first up upon tasting followed by more fresh hop flavour and a hint of grainy malt.
Too much carbonation.

This beer pours a pale amber hue with decent carbonation that leaves a one finger head with a ring of lacing,it has real citrusy hop aroma to it,it has an above average mouthfeel that has hints of citrus hops and some grainy, malty notes like someone said before its definately no standout beer but easy enough to drink and ill have no problem finishing this longneck.

This pours an uninspiring dark gold with a tight, small, offwhite head. Decent head retention.

The aroma could be better. A bit of malt, a bit of lemon and a distinct metallic note are all present but lack interest.

A slightly citrussy hop profile is met but an uninspired, flavourless malt backbone. While the lemony flavour is slightly refreshing there isn't the depth and interest I expect from a beer such as this. Maybe I was expecting something more from this but it is disappointing and it certainly doesn't have the malt depth and character expected of the style.

Average body and crisp, vibrant carbonation hold up well and create a refreshing beer.

Overall, a disappointment from a beer which had potential. The style deserves more in terms of its malt profile and while I appreciate a hoppy beer I feel that the hops here are almost cleaner like in the way their piney, lemon notes come across. An average attempt but this could have been much better.

Pours a hazy light amber. nice 2 fingers of rocky head.

Some piney citrus aromas witha big chunk of lychees in there, slight bready malt but very faint.

Some citrus, bit of bread. Most of what is in the aroma comes through, just very light on.

Touch over carbontated for me.

A nice tasty offering, would have it again, but won't be searching for it.

Cloudy dark amber in color with a small head and good retention.

Initially a very raw hop aroma that leads into more floral notes. Some white fruit aromas come out as does a sweeter malt character. Very nice.

Heaps of tropical fruits on the palate - paw paw and pineapple mix with sweet malt flavours.

Good dry finish and a fair whack of hop bitterness on the finish. Very full feel and well balanced.

A hoppy amber ale but very drinkable and recommended. Good stuff.

A - Poured from a 630ml long neck bottle into a pint glass a hazy dark golden colour with a few centimetres of white head that falls away leaving a bit of lacing.
S - Floral hops at first & with a bit of a swirl some citrus fruit hop notes as well as a bready malt aroma.
T - Some floral hops in the taste along with a sweetish caramel maltiness.
M - Light to medium bodied with a fairly low carbonation.
D - It was no trouble finishing off the 630ml long neck. Nothing to get too excited about; just a well balanced, tasty beer.
