Purchased from the Adelaide Bier Shop online.

Pours a perfectly clear, almost crystalline pure golden colour, like young white wine. Head is crackly with carbonation, and only manages to form a filmy lining. Some loose and sudsy lacing. I like the clarity and brightness in the body, but otherwise, it leaves a little to be desired.

Nose is crisp and a little organic, giving a hint of mushrooms and turned earth along with a husky grain sweetness. Very light on in most respects, but the cleanness is pleasant at least.

Taste suffers from the Curse of Ringwood, PoR giving a big dollop of earthy harshness to it, and really singling it out as an Aussie lager from the cookie cutter of the macro. Clean and grainy on the finish--a hint of cashew--and without perhaps some of the harsh yeasty notes of other Aussie lagers plagued with this most hated of hops, but it's not enough. It comes across as bland for the most part, and vaguely offensive when the characters come through.

Feel is light and crisp. Perfectly suitable for the style, but without the flavour or body, it doesn't really help.

I've had far better. This is not a great beer, although I recognise that there's skill involved in getting such a clean and flavourless lager out the door.

Appearance - 2.0
Fast fading white head over a fizzy, pale straw coloured body. Unimpressive.

Smell - 3.0
Rather herbaceous and grassy hops lead the way, with slightly sweet grain and husk there too. A little sulfury.

Taste - 3.0
Little to separate it from a host of mainstream, big brewery lagers, apart from a fairly prominent bitterness. Dry, dusty grain and husk, slightly metallic and lemony hops, finishing very dry.

Mouthfeel - 3.5
Highly carbonated with a light body, the bead is sharp over the tongue.

Drinkability - 3.5
Certainly not a beer I would pay money for again, but easy to drink and well suited to hot weather with a moreish bitterness.

OVERALL - 2.9
The relatively high level of appetizing bitterness suggests to me that this is a beer best suited to drinking with food. Otherwise there is nothing here for me - I'd pick it over most macro offerings, but not all. I sometimes wonder the point of beers like this in small breweries - surely it is just to sell volume.

Pours pale gold, almost yellow with a small head.
Nice spicy and floral hops present themselves in the aroma, though light on. Some bready malt in the background.
Flavours are malt dominated with sweet biscuit notes definitely present. Hops are not forgotten with more floral and spicy notes.
Good moderately-high carbonation and nice body.

Pale, soft malt aroma with light hop character. Moderate amount of sulphur.

Crystal clear, paler than pale, no head and effervescent. Classic pale lager.

Light soft malts with a low but sufficient bitterness. No hop flavours. A crisp, dry, straightforward lager with a slight (I mean very slight) citrussy edge in the finish.

Light body with moderately-high carbonation. It's suitable.

There is nothing challenging about this beer. It is a simple quaffer. While I won't be back for more I think it is a decent example of the style.
