this is a monster, and in many ways reminds me of the centennial ipa from founders. I think the hop profile is about identical, particularly in the nose and in the first half of the flavor experience. its that fresh milled two by four complexion that is unique to the centennial hop, and although I cant confirm it factually, my taste buds tell me that's whats going on here. the pour is hazy and golden, with a sexy and lasting white head that's wispy and spirited. the wood and bitter is intense in both the nose and taste, and I cant find the alcohol at all, which is just bonkers for a beer this size. it claims 125 ibus, and im not arguing. the hops taste super fresh, not freakishly complex, but neat and clean in the way only a huge ipa can be when it tries to act like a lager. this rises to the challenge, and the cooking carbonation really helps it be an easy drinking 750ml of strong ale. I hate the price, but I love the beer. probably one of the more enjoyable india pale ales ive had lately, and trust me there have been some dandys. this is memorable in every way, including the label. its been so long now since I had Emma's coffin, but this might be trinitys best beer going these days. the swingline was fantastic as well, but this is a perfect ipa in so many ways. freshness is everything, and this nails it.

Has an amber pour with a white-reddish head with a long retention time. Has tropical fruit aroma--mango--and some sugary malt caramel. Tastes of mango and pears with wheat.

Bottle purchased by a friend directly from the brewery. Seeing the ratings for this beer I can't help but wonder if the bottle I received is out of date or was exposed to extreme temperatures. Bottle consumed within 1 week of purchase. Surprisingly disappointed. Would like to give this one another shot in the future.
