Sort of a thinner looking Porter, somehow the black color seems a bit light, like an extremely dark brown. Mediocre looks. Nose is pleasant; touch of rubbing alcohol mixes with sweet chocolate and coffee roast. Simple but enticing. Taste is a notch above the aroma. Slightly sweet, bitter chocolates. Lingering rotary bitterness. Smooth with medium light body.

Overall, solid Porter. Maybe because it's the first real cold day of winter here in CO, but this beer really hits that perfect sweet spot.

Nitro tap at the Aspen Tap Room in downtown Aspen.
A great looking brew with a finger and half of tan cream colored head on a pitch black body.
The aroma is a faint roasted malt.
The taste is all bitter/sweet with a dose of roasted malt. Great balance.
Smooth and creamy texture. Low carbonation and heavy body.
A really enjoyable beer; just a little more on the nose would make it really great.

Had on tap at the Aspen Brewing Tap Room. Poured into a pint glass.

A: Pours a nice deep black, slight khaki head, killer lacing!

S: Molasses, coffee and vanilla dominate the nose.

T: Follows the nose, very sweet. Loads of roast! Some almost fruity qualities reminiscent of light roast coffee. Perhaps some very subtle chocolate.

M: Somewhat thin, but leaves you wanting more. Adequate carbonation leaves it nicely smooth. Very slight dry finish.

O: A really nice beer, almost borders on a stout with the roastyness. I love the coffee and roast notes.

A: slow pour from the tap, no head, pitch black
S: mildly roasted coffee, traces of caramel, nothing special
T: bam! coffee 2 creams 5 sugars! tons of coffee with a roasted maltiness and an insane toffee sweetness (possibly too sweet for most folk). a bit of caramel and vanilla join the party. long, smooth, and super sweet finish.
M: impressively smooth and creamy, barely any carbonation
O: dessert beer all the way. had 2 after dinner and couldn't have been happier.

A: Dark coffee color. Poured a thin tan-colored head. Heavy, clinging lacing on the glass.

S: Heavy roasted malt; caramel and chocolate. Coffee bitterness in the background.

T: Big flavors of coffee (almost too much), dark roasted malts and a touch of sweet caramel.

M: Big body. Low carbonation. Made for a beer that was smooth and silky...really well done.

D: For a big beer, surprisingly drinkable; I had 5 glasses out of the growler overa couple hours.
