A - This one pours a deep bronze that looks a little tangerine in the light. The head is more of a collar, but some tiny bubbles in the lace look nice.
S - Malty and bready notes are the main idea here, and some sandy mineral aspects are there too. A little hop scent shows up and adds a bit of autumn leaf flair.
T - This is much more hoppy than it smells! This is an earthy flavored amber that tastes very much like the season it represents. Tangy fruit adds vibrant notes on top of the base of whole wheat bread and hearty bagel flavors: mango and tangerine with a small hint of kiwi. This balance of earthy malt and higher fruit splashes is really well done.
M - Medium bodied, firm, and hearty. This is crisply carbonated and really fresh.
D - Definitely a session beer for the colder months. I really like RedHooks ESB and IPA, and this is another well-rounded and well-made beer that could become a staple in my fridge during the months it's available. Refreshing and balanced, with a nod towards the hop-heads out there... this is a really good brew!
